that's normal. Everyone is excited about ethanol. How we won't have to depend on foreign oil. well the only problem with that is we'll just have to consume more ethanol. I read a report online. they had two cars. same models, same engines, same everything. drove them the same with same driver. the car they ran on ethanol averaged 20% worst mileage(i think it was like v-6 accords they were testing) so the one on regular oil was like 24 mpg. the one on ethanol averaged around 20-21 mpg.

If you could find gas pumps with the "old school." gas. go with that to save you a few bucks.

Since when did Honda begin testing ethanol in their vehicles?

I'd like to know what kind of driving these people do to get such piss poor mileage.

I've been keeping records for years on my various cars... these are averages:

1988 Accord LX = 26 city and 33 highway
1996 Civic LX = 31 city and 37 highway
1997 3.2 TL = 23 city and 28 highway
2003 3.2 TL = 24 city and 33 highway
2005 TL = 23 city and 30 highway

I think you missed the point. The engine has to be specifically built to run ethanol, you can't just pour that shit into an accord and expect things to go well.

Agreed, but I think he's probably talking about a study that used E10, which is the crap that's in all the gas now as the oxygenate. E85 can only be used in vehicles specifically designed for it.

Forget ethanol made from corn, it sucks.
