Dylanz287's Car Brainstorming Thread
So as many of you know, I drive a 2000TL, and i've been exploring my options as to what kind of car I would like to drive and MOD. My TL currently sits on 58,000 miles and has some minor cosmetic and mechanical problems that may need to be adressed in the future. I can't totally afford the cars I really would like to have such as the nsx, supra and s2000, but I'm looking for fun driving, reliability, looks and speed. Do you think that I should get rid of the TL and get the 2000 GSR Integra? I hear that modification and parts come easy at lower prices, and it's a better platform to work on? Is there any other cars you would recommend? 240sx?

Why the sudden step backwards ???
I still wholeheartedly stick by the "Z".....get a nice used one ! They really hold their value and are great cars.
Reminds me of the days of yesteryear, back when the original 240Z changed the way car manufacturer's define a true sport's car at a good price. None of these other old beat up cars are going to even come close to fulfilling your desire and needs.

with a 10k budget, try checking your local craigslist postings.
3.2TLc would be happy about this one:

I would say keep the TL but you just never know when the tranny will go out so getting rid of that thing isn't a bad idea. Go with a GSR IF you could find one with decent miles and one that wasn't abused which will be probably be hard to find.
If you are considering a GSR - a 2002 RSX Type S might not be bad for you.

my TL ran 13s... put that mod money into the TL. I drove an integra for a brief interim after my TL and i have to say that it was VERY slow in comparison and i missed the ameneties. If straight line speed is what you are after then niether of the acuras are a good place to start

2000 TL mods.......
Hey Dylz, your best place to check out any desired mods on your 2000 TL would be the site's "Second Generation TL" (1999 - 2003). I think that you may already know that, but if serious..... those are the guys who know their stuff with mods !!!

So you went from the $25k + range (BRZ, WRX that you wanted) down to $10k in a span of days. That's a huge jump. With your inability to decide anything I'd just stick with the TL before you trade it in and hate what you get a week later.

S2000 44k Mileage $13,000
Found a S2000 2003 model 44k Mileage for a ridiculous price of $13,000 the guy quoted "This is the best s2000 i've seen of its year ever, garage kept, spoiler and lip kit, black colored", I will try to schedule a meetup tomorrow to check the car out. It has a clean title and one owner. WHats wrong with it?
I have no idea on what to look for when used car shopping? Some people have told me to look for any leaks or any weird noises/vibrations, but is there anything else I can look for when shopping? I'm not very knowledgeable about car mechanics.. I'm taking my dad with me. Hopefully this thread can help others buying used cars aswell!

please take juniorbean's advice from one of your previous threads that you've made recently.
Actually at his age he needs to learn to stay focused on one thing for more then a few hours. Topic closed, new one here:

And OP... you don't need a new topic for every car thought you have. You can keep it all in one...

Most times in life, if something seems to good to be true, usually it's iffy !!! ..... and if ya don't have a clue what to look for, then perhaps you should have a professional mechanic evaluate the car for you. It may be the best money that you ever spent when considering an iffy "used" sports car.
