I have it as a loaner, and i am goign to get flamed, but I would never purchase the car for myself. I only like the interior better......the handling is no better or possibly worse than my cl-s, acceleration feels weaker at low end, and overall doesnt feel strong, the exhaust note is light and weak....I am just not feeling it.

so basically you are saying it's similar to the CLS in most departments aside from the interior....which is pretty much true. Although the general handling and suspension setup is better than the previous CL/TL in overall dynamics. Chasis might not be as good in handling the power in straightline.

Depends if his CLS has springs and sways. I dont think the new TL handles better than that.

absolutely not. i think the new TL is....hideous.

 

my test drive was shorter but the day to day handling is better than stock CLS. Damping is much better.

 

Changed my opinion, acceleration is faster than felt, but I like the feeling of the Cl-S a lot better.
However, the handling on those stock Turanzas actually are better than a Cl-S stock. I wonder if its just cuz of the 235/45/17 size on all 4's instead of 215.

 

I just can't get past the new body style, still looks alittle odd, esp. the sides with that long crease.

 

I had the same impression when I got one for a loaner when my CLS 6MT was in for service. Although, I didn't like the interior. I thought it looked cheesy and/or cheap as compared to my CLS.

 

i hope one of yall will see one parked next to a 00 civic sedan and you will freak. after i saw both white o4 tl and 00 civic side by side from the rear i thought they were the same car!!!

i think if acura changed out the tailights like half clear and half red or something to the same level of altezzas the car would look bad ass

I dispise the new TL. Its such a small car unlike the 2nd gen TL which was nice and said "I'M BOSS"
I don't care for the ass of the car either and the front could do without the ghetto embossed "acura" name in the front.

Also it looks too much like the TSX.

Acura raised the price of the car so the TL has lost it value compared to the 2nd gen which had awsome bang for your buck.

I think it looks better than any previous Acura sedan by far, especially with the 18" gunmetal rims and a sport suspension 1" drop, and the OEM lip spoiler. HOT.

But it's not the type of car I'd buy either.

 

You guys are on crack! I traded my 01 CL-S with headers, exhaust and CAI for a 6 speed TL. The TL is silky smooth and pulls as hard as my CL. Once mods are avail the TL will blow the CL away. Compair apples to apples fellas.. The TL is the shit!

 

I think the trunk is way too short, but I like it better than the first time I saw it. I just think Acura is fucking up all over the place these days, but that's just MY opinion.

I think y'alll are just jealous because Acura cancelled the CL. j/k Seriously, one of my colleagues has a gorgeous NBP CL-S that I park next to every day. He likes my new TL, and I compliment him frequently on the good shape he keeps his baby in.

I hope that Acura makes a coupe from the current model. With the interior features and the tighter suspension, that could make quite a competitor with the G35 coupe. And with AWD, it would be unstoppable, just as an AWD TL sedan (c'mon, Acura!) would be.

 

The interior of the new TL is awesome, especially with Navi. The exterior view is so so.

I wanted to buy the CL but I realized it was DUMPED!

 

My CLS is 4 years old now, so I am itching to get something new.
I saw the new TL last week during an oil change. The interior is very nice, don't like the exterior at all, though the black looks the best for it. I definitely won't be getting this version of the TL, still looking for a CLS replacement.

The 04 TL has not grown on me a bit. The only things I like are the headlights and interior styling. That's about it. The exterior is fugly as hell. I really don't think you'll feel much power difference between the CL-S and 04 TLs. If you're planning to buy another Acura, I say go for the 05 RL. Now that has more improvements....AWD baby!.

 

You're right! They do look staggered. Useless and dumb!!!!!!!! Besides, those rims look better on the 2nd gen CL and TLs.

I dont "hate" the CL just dislike it, never once ever in my imagination was it an option.
If the 04 TL is "fugly" I'd hate to think what the G35 sedan would be , "butt fugly"? Now I always liked the G35 coupe, now thats a beaut.. but the sedan is OMG wtf did we do ugly. The G35 coupe is a nice car.. only thing wrong with it is the cheap ass interior that the 04 TL just blows away.

 

Acura:

1. Has begun to ignore the entry level sports coupe market, which it once dominated with the Integra.

2. Has morphed itself into a "bargain" upscale marque while the rest of the Japanese upscales have left them in the dust.

3. Continues to ignore the outcrys of their customer base for a V8 luxury model and rear wheel drive on any model but the grossly overpriced NSX.

4. Released the TSX with a FOUR cylinder engine...it's place in the lineup confuses me to this day.

5. Dropped the CL lineup instead of making it more competitive.

6. Continues to release fucking shitass accord lookalikes.

I owned 4 Acuras and was a die hard fan until they turned their back on what once made them great.

Enjoy your accord. I'll take my G35 Coupe anyday. It's better looking, more solid, and is built with better materials than any Acura I've been in of late. I don't think it's any secret that Acura is screwing the pooch.

Like I said, I owned FOUR Acuras, most recently the CL-S. The materials in my G35 are better all around. I have received better service from Infiniti, the warranty is better, and I'm confident that my transmission will not shatter when I feel like driving it hard.

I'm not a big fan of the G35 Sedan, but I'm confident that the next generation of it won't look like a fucking Maxima rehash.
