Drove a Ferrari F355 today.
So I had to take the wife to the eye doctor. Her eyes were going to get dilated, so she needed a driver.
I pull into the parking lot, and I see a fucking F355 in the parking lot. Shiny as a mofo.
I asked my wife if it was the doctor's, to which she replied "I don't know".
So we go inside, and he's out in the waiting room talking to a patient that is just getting ready to leave. I'd never met him before, but he seemed very personable, just from listening to the conversation. Once the conversation ended, he turned to my wife and said hello. He then immediately introduced himself to me, said "you must be Eric"... Pretty cool.
So my wife asked him.... Eric wants to know if that's your car outside. "Yes", he said.
OK, to make a LONG story short (we even had a talk about car polishes… he uses Zaino). He gives the wife the drops for the dilation.... And said... This will take 10 minutes... Want to go see the car?
Well, DUH...
So we go outside, and he gives me the keys. "Get in", he said.
So I get inside... He slides in the passenger’s seat.
"Start her up"... The fuggin' thing just purred. You don't need to start the car with the clutch depressed if it's in neutral. Must be a European thing.
So he asks me if I'm proficient in driving stick, to which I pointed to my car, and said it was a stick. "Well, in that case. Take it around the block."

The ride was simply amazing. The power... Oh yeah. I of course didn't rip on it, but it was... Damn... I'm getting giggly just typing about it.
It was a great ride. He said the maintenance is simply a joke; expensive as shit. He said he can never get out of the dealership for less than $1000. Bought it new. Only 10K miles. Never seen rain.
I drove home feeling like I was in a Pinto. Just no comparison.
Good stuff.
PS>>> No pics BTW. No camera with me.

Must have been fun though. I always loved the sounds of those engines. They make a distinct high pitched whine thats so sweet. I would love to drive one of those. Was it a coupe or convertible? Also what color and stuff? Damn, maybe I should think of going to school for opthomology instead of engineering.

cool man!! ....yeah there's nothing quite like driving an exotic.
I can definitely relate, I drove my friend's F355 recently.... after some begging, he said ok take it around the block, but I know he meant take it out on the street so it was me and my other friend, I took it out on the street and ripped through 3rd gear hitting about 8000 rpm's oops. It's one of my most favorite cars, mainly because of the sound - my friend's has Tubi exhaust so that made it even better. It's not terribly fast by today's standards (low 13's @ 109 or so) - but not slow. I'll post some pix of it later.
again, on your treat.
