random but I dunno if it is just me but I think Mazda CX-7 drivers are the worst at driving, always speeding, cutting people off, horrible drivers. No matter where I am, any CX-7 I see on the road is doing something retarded...

I see a CX-7 maybe once a month if that. Not very popular in the NW.

The absolute worst is when you get four dip-shits driving next to each other or just slightly staggered on a four lane highway, all doing the same speed. I'd launch missals at those fucks if I could.

all work and no play
when I used to drive a truck I would be restricted to the right two lanes. I used to HATE when someone would sit in the second lane going the speed limit like the car right next to him with noone for miles in front of them. Id practicially push them, I cant imagine the horror of looking in their rear view and seeing my bumper and grill about 2-3 feet off their bumper

Oregon has TWO lanes for most of I-5.
Meaning a trucker is in the right hand lane doing 55 mph (as per speed limit for trucks)
And a Prius is MAYBE doing 50 in the 'passing' lane.

I do my best to respect the truckers. Ive been the dumbass that slows down to let them pass in front of me. But hey, they're out there working for god knows how many hours a day.

If they've got their turn signal on and I can see they are being impeded by a slower car in the right lane, I'll give them room to get over and give them a flash of the lights. 9/10 they will make the pass, as quickly as possible, and get over immediately and give me a "blinker" thanks. Very few drivers help out the truck drivers, IMO.

I guess I was just thinking locally - 101, 580, etc. are all larger. Only when you get away from the bay do they get down to 2.

I've decided the 101 is better than the 5 for LA to the Bay...nicer drive and no trucks, worth the extra hour. I had a great drive up the 101, and an annoying one coming back the 5.

Ahh. Yeah. I mean, it makes sense on routes like 50 and most of 80.
101/1 down the coast is nice but god damn it sucks if it is travel season. Soooo many trailers with little shit cars pulling them, I swear they look like they are going to drive off the road.

If I'm trying to pass someone and someone is coming up fast behind me, I speed up so I can pass without hindering their speed at all. I live near the beach so we have all of the fucktard tourists driving around every where. I-10 is pretty much lined with gold Tahos and Yukons most of the time. My favorite thing they do is when they slam on brakes right before going into the I-10 tunnel, nearly causing a huge pile-up. Then we sit bumper-to-bumper until the fucktard in front gets out of the tunnel and returns to a regular speed.

Left lane is for passing, otherwise GTFO.

I love this thread.
Honestly to me, it's not even a subject worth arguing. If you are slowing down people or there is a faster vehicle behind you, move over. I cannot seem to understand the logic certain people use.

Ah here we go again...everyday I swear I almost have to run some jackass whose doing the speed limit or less in the passing lane off the road since I pretty much refuse to pass on the right. Happened today, prob will happen again tomorrow. It's like they don't even teach this most basic rule of the road anymore.

Here's how I handle it:
1) If I'm the driver being overtaken, I move over as soon as I can for the faster moving traffic so we can both get on with our lives.
2) If I'm the overtaking driver, and the person doesn't move over, I will pass him on the right and get on with my life.
Passing on the right, while not ideal, is still safer than indulging in any form of road rage. Dirty looks, single finger gestures, flashing lights, etc... none of that will make the person change their ways so I'm not going to stress over it when my safety and the safety of those around me should be my primary concern.

I have issues with those who have a short fuse when trying to overtake me. Obviously I will try and move out of the left lane but if there is a car in the right lane going considerably slower than I am, I'm going to pass that person before moving over rather than slamming on my brakes and ducking behind them. Patience is important

And to the OP: It is not your god-given right to hold up traffic just because you insist on going exactly the speed limit. If someone is clearly riding your tail wanting to pass, get the fuck out of their way and get on with your life.

wat
FWIW, few things piss me off while driving except an oblivious jackass in the left lane. Get the fuck out of my way unless you want to go as fast as I'm going.
