Some departments deliberately order their unmarked cars with "Crown Victoria LX" on the back.

I don't recall seeing many "Police Interceptor" badges on any SoCal law enforcement agency Crown Vics, except for CHP, and that was only on the rear trunk, IIRC.

Some police cars and unmarked units are Impalas here. My friend borrowed her dad's Impala to drive up to their cottage, about 2.5 hrs outside of the city. She said people moved over and cleared the lanes for her the entire way.

When I worked at Hertz (transporting cars), I would charge down the left lane of highways in our Crown Vics and cars would literally dive out of way.
