I always wondered why do the same type of cars come out at the same time? I was looking at the new IS350 post and noticed how much it favored the BMW and how even Audi's can sometimes be mistaken for bimmers. So like every other decade or new body style do car makers decide on what cars are going to look like at one time then just run with it throughout the industry?

BTW not saying the look exactly alike, just saying usually all car makers tend to favor each other around the same time, like how you can always tell an early 90's car no matter the brand.

 

yes. if you look at the new sonata from the side it looks like an audi/vw and an accord from the rear. the new passat from the side looks like a GS.

 

Well one manufacturer sets a great design... The others follow with something a little more creative, but along the same lines.....
If things don't change, don't we just stand still ?
