I saw the whole transplant of the EJ25 with the 6 speed, but they had to replace the whole wiring harness..... That is not fun. And the Levorg was never built with a 6 speed from the factory, so I'd have to do a custom ECU. It can be done but it would be cost prohibitive.
Nice one. Actually, with stop lights so close together on this small island, I'm actually happy not having a manual. If I lived in mainland Japan and could really stretch my car's legs, then sure.
I'm just messing with you, primarily because I'm jealous
I get it. My daily doesn't even have a transmission, and there have been many times that I've been very happy that was the case.
No issues. More pics once we settle in here. And as much as I want that sweet 6 speed Subaru makes, it's really impractical on an island that's only as big as the drive from Arlington to Fredricksburg, but only 10 miles wide.
man those vans in Japan make a shipping container look rounded… I want one!
how long will you be there for?
1. Yep, an LC. HE owns my house, his house, and two others on the street.
2. Forever, I think. Trying to figure out how to do the land purchase/home build. I need a garage for what I want to own. Ha.
So look up Toyota Alphard. Like a transformers van. But it's the most stolen vehicle here.
Not a sexy pic. Limited room in my current garage, but had to do a touch of brake work. So they are Tokico calipers, twin piston. The front shocks are after market. And boy was it a @#$% finding a jack point AND with the car sitting so low getting a jack that will fit. I gotta love Japan, as they came through with a very low profile 2 ton model.
More pics. I'm going to raise the suspension a touch. I've had some scrapes already so time to go to a garage and put her on a lift. The front seats are made by Recaro, and they are unbelievably comfortable. And you can't have a car in Japan without TV. Ha.
Nice spec! It definitely needs some wheel spacers.
So they need to be pushed out a touch? Hmmm.
The thing that bothers me the most is I hit the bump stops on some of the road "features" (hard dips). It's common with this car model. I'm going to get it to the garage to raise it a touch, maybe an inch. Won't help with shock/spring travel but a little less front end scraping.
I think making the wheels flush will give the illusion that it's just as low, even if you were to raise the car. How are the roads there?
The roads are actually pretty good as far as asphalt quality. The issue is when the civil engineering is not great, concerning the layers underneath that give way and you have these dips that really hurt at any speed above 50 km/h. So you'll find depressions and areas where it really shakes things up. But get on the expressway and it's autobahn smooth (source: lived in Germany for 15 years). Zero issues but I don't need the single expressway on island all that much.
