Out in western Prince William County where I live, the place is lousy with deer.. among other four-legged wild critters, large snapping turtles, snakes, groundhogs, beavers, and such. With my last car, a 2002 Altima SE, I hit a large groundhog, perhaps around 25 pounds. Killed it, but I was really concerned when it happened if my alignment had been altered. Nothing to do for the groundhog expect make sure he's not suffering.. I went back to shoot him just in case, but he had expired.

I've hit two deer in my time, luckily in my 2000 Grand Am SE and not my TSX.
First one scared the piss outta me, 1:00 am, see deer on left side of rode on shoulder (going into woods) turn my head back straight, catch a deer in my peripheral (sp?) vision coming out of ditch, hit his/her stupid ass going 65mph. Car shuttered, stopped at a gas station and had a cracked bumper, fog light out, and bent fender. At least that was the cosmetic stuff. Scared the crap outta me
Second one, had my girlfriend in the car getting her back to her school, pitch ass black out, heading down a hill (should be noted headlights on Grand Am SUCK!!!) see a deer crossing the road (at the center line towards my lane) calmly steer (not swerve) right, he/she backs up at the same time, next thing I know my side view mirror smashes against my window. Not scared but extremely pissed.

Wow, thanks for sharing Terry. If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for you to be able to move and speak again? Do you still have any troubles today?
I would like to buy a motorcycle, but everytime I start to sell myself on the idea, I read a story like yours. It really sways me over the other direction. The more and more I think about it, the more I've been selling myself on the idea of buying / building a bike strictly for the track, but that's a lot of money to put into on something that I may not even like to do...
