Oh come on. I could take a dump and get better front-to-rear weight distribution. CTS-v battery only weighs 15 lbs. It's definitely to free up more room for the turbo.

now that all cars have to have obdII ports, the newer cars are just getting scanned instead of them putting that clamp on the tailpipe.
a guy brought his e60 m5 in without the cats. I asked how he wasnt throwing CELs, apparently theres these new devices (phantoms I think is what he called them?) that you attatch to the o2 sensors and it tricks the ECU. Pretty interesting

Thief pops hood, usually alarms go off....
Thief yanks off a battery cable....
Alarm no longer has power, goes silent
I'd assume most thieves know where the location of the battery is in your car when its stock if he's trying to steal it. When you relocate the battery to the back, he can't yank the wires, and thus he panics and/or gives up, hopefully.
