Crowds Beware

I got a new car!

It's a 2016 Mustang Ecoboost. Had 19,6xx on it when I got it a few months ago. Nabbed it for under 19k

I am in love with it. Factory Recaro/Ford Performance seats ($3,000 option apparently), upgraded wheels, Deep Impact Blue, 6 speed manual, backup camera.

Yes, it's a 4cyl Mustang. Yes the V8 is faster and more awesome. I didn't buy one because they were out of my price range on the 15+ body style (what I wanted + lower mileage). Also helps that this gets 30mpg and has 300hp.

May or may not have already put a Cobb intake on and tuned it O_o

Yeah I really love the way it drives and feels. It's a step above the previous gens for sure.

Thanks! Although not quite as a cool as yours lol. Any oil consumption problems with yours? I've seen several of those GT350s having problems eating oil every 1k miles or so.

I haven’t had any issues with the oil, though I’m only at 1,800 miles and have babied it for the most part. I think normal consumption in the manual states 1 qt every 500 miles is normal. I try and check it every week or so and I have a few quarts on standby just in case. I’ll be taking it in for it’s first oil change once the weather breaks.

Congrats! I have a lot of friends who have this car. A pretty cool car.

Buddy had a set of 18 wide RPF1s on it with RS3 tires. It handled well.

Thanks! It was tuned with HP Tuners, custom file from a friend that tunes. His program shows indicated flywheel torque (but not HP) and that showed 413lb/ft at the flywheel, so roughly 350ish wheel, so I'd say 330ish crank hp? 280ishwhp? Boost is running around 21psi right now peak. It really woke the car up. The stock tune is real conservative, it runs 10.5 AFR stock under WOT (real rich) so he brought that up a bit too.

That's crazy. Never have I seen a brand new car eat that much oil. I saw people on forums saying they were adding 10-15 quarts between oil changes due to the consumption.

Looks pretty nice. Wheels are a ways off for me, def want to lower it though, way too high.

Congrats! This generation of Mustang is the best looking in a very long time! (and awesome thread title)

Current 4-bangers are definitely underestimated. So, enjoy it - away from those crowds!

Yeah had I gone previous gen a V8 would have happened but I just don't care for the looks and they are just horrible interiors IMO. People really do underestimate them. Smaller displacement forced induction is the future of power!

I'll be sure to avoid populated areas

Thanks Steven! Yes. As much as I love the LS powerplant, I just don't care for much it's in these days (that's in my price range of course). 5th gen Camaro is fast yes, but not really nice to drive. The Mustang had everything I wanted, power, fun, manual, economical.

So lil update, did a few things to the car.

Catless turboback exhaust
Eibach lowering springs

Was going to wait to do exhaust but I got an insane deal on the exhaust. Cost me less than $600. $300 off the catback section from MBRP and the catless downpipe was $70 off.

Springs lowered it 1.5 inch all around. Love how it rides and adore how it looks. Contemplating spacers though. Little sunk in the rear.

Stock for reference

I have some vids of the exhaust, but need to get them up on YouTube. They actually aren't even of my car, but my friend with the exact same setup as I have so, sounds the same as mine (didn't have my camera when we did mine).
