It looks like the dumbass in the Ram did that on purpose, trying (and failing) to beat the light. Some people should not have driver's licenses and this is why I always look both ways before going through an intersection, especially if my light has just turned green.

I also always try to looks both ways before going through green lights and I especially look both ways if my light just turned green. I think if more people did this, a lot of these "red light runner" accidents could be avoided. I have caught myself just driving thru green lights though without looking both ways and I always think I could have just gotten hit right now...its scary but the truth is you HAVE to be a defensive driver at all times cause some people just don't know how to drive

Over here, it is best to wait about 3 seconds before proceeding on a GREEN light. Then you might not get t-boned.

The truck driver should be taken out and shot. And I'd like to be there when it happens.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I've said it before and got ass reamed for it so now I just keep stuff like that to myself.......but I still think it.

Thank God that was caught on camera because you know the douche in the truck would have argued to no avail despite it clearly being his fault. Hope everyone is ok

I learned the hard way that going through an intersection without looking both ways is a huge mistake. I was in my TL and going across a street to get on to the highway. The on-ramp is fairly short so I hit the gas as soon as the light turned green and out of nowhere my car is facing the opposite direction I had been traveling in. The police said they think the guy ran the light going at least 35mph, luckily I was just shaken up but my TL did have $8,000 in damage.

The driver of that truck should get a massive penalty for that. There's just no excuse for running red lights, ever.

I was trying to see how it got hit to cause a flame up like that. It didn't look like that car really got hit that hard.

I hope that truck driver loses everything he owns & goes to prison.

I lost my favorite car, that I ever had a '72 2002Tii in '86 in an accident just like that.

A*SSHAT ran a red, so blatantly a city bus waiting for the light he ran stopped & told the police that happened to cross the intersection a few minutes later. What happened.

Anyone have a clue where this happened or the link to the story?

People that run red lights are a menace.

I was in L.A. during the riots, too soon for me to joke about it.

I still get emotional when under the bridge is on the radio.

As such, it's probably safe to say that any time will be too soon for this to joked about for your comfort. In Living Color spoofed both King and Denny almost immediately after.

I am sure for some how was your trip to Dallas Mrs. Kennedy is too soon.

Proximity, Perception & how one was personally involved are powerful things.

The city was a serious mess, the Ralph's (a Supermarket) in my neighborhood was burned to the ground. I drove by when it was burning the building was a long 1/2 block from the street I was waiting at a light on & I could feel the heat.

It was very bad.

As much as I want to believe that, this country gives too many second chances to people that do REALLY stupid things. People that do things intentionally shouldn't be given second chances. If this guy had a bad driving record, my inclination would be to take away his license for life. If not, MAYBE suspend his license, fine him, stick him on that intersection holding a sign saying "I ran this red light, hurt X people, caused $XXXXX amount of damage. I am a dumbass for doing so".

The problem with people on the road these days is that they think they can remain anonymous when they do stupid stuff, like cut off other drivers, run red lights, etc. Take away their anonymity and you'll see things change.

Can you imagine what that all sounded like? I remember witnessing a minor fender bender and it sounded worse than it was. Can only imagine this.

I think it might have been in the sense that the dude is going to get sued for a lot of money.

With no story, I can't just say "the guy is an idiot for running a red light". If he was just not paying attention and ran the light. Yeah, he is an idiot. What if he spilled his coffee just then and was paying attention to his junk on fire. Or he had a screaming kid in the back seat? It is very hard to concentrate on anything when you have a kid screaming at the top of his/her lungs. I know that for a fact.

So many variables to just say "He should do hard time". He ran a red light. It happens all of the time. Every day.. I bet there is not one person in here that has not ran a red light at least once in their lives.

So you think he should walk away? Regardless of what happened, he ran the red. Screaming kid? Pull over somewhere. Spilled coffee? Pull over. If anyone was killed in that accident, I don't think you can find an excuse that would make me think otherwise.

He was negligent, point blank. He is responsible for the pain he caused and I'm sure that is how he would be tried in court. Of course anyone can say that someone has ran a red light in there lives, but how many people would run a red light at such a busy intersection? I know i haven't and sure as hell wouldn't.

Was anyone hurt?

If no one was hurt and he wasn't drunk then I am almost positive that he did just walk away. it was an accident. Same as not paying attention and slamming into the back of someone. No different. Does that make it right. Hell no. But accidents happen everyday.

He was negligent. You are 100% right. I am not trying to defend the guy at all. I am just saying that people are saying that he should do hard time and all of that, but A. we don't know the story and B. it was an accident. They happen.

I have not ran a red light in a long time. But I can say the last time I did, it was in the middle of rush hour and luckily there was no accident. I was not on the phone, I was not singing to the radio. My mind was just elsewhere. I saw a light turn, thought it was mine and just went. I saw the red light about halfway though and felt like a complete dumbass.

Again, I am not trying to stick up for the guy as I hope that no one was hurt.

Agreed, I guess i was just assuming that someone was seriously hurt. My mom was in a similar accident that involved someone running a red light, I guess that's why it just ticks me off a little. Gladly she walked away.

I never ran a red light. It is just plain stupid to do so. I hope everyone in the 4 runner is ok. It just makes me mad to see accident like this.

Looking at the speed of the truck, driver tried to run the red light. It's totally preventable. I do hope everyone in that truck got hurt BADLY. The judge should just give the truck driver capital punishment.

Pretty harsh don't you think - like his passengers had any control over the driver.
