cool temp indications
cool temp indications
I bought an 1999 integra and drove home 100 miles. I observed the temp indicator remained at cold. I stopped at rest stop 5mins and noticed the temp climb to about half. Driving again the temp went back to cold and remained. At home popped hood and noticed two fans, neither spinning. Do I have a fan relay problem, a thermostat problem or what else?
this is the TL section for acura,,is that what you have,,not an integra?
driver side fan is temp sensor controlled, 99 is at thermostat housing
guage should always read 1-2 lines below half and never more,,or less and no movement like you experienced
passenger fan is controlled by AC on,,
sounds like a thermostat stuck problem to start with
Ck water pump for signs of leaking from the weep hole on its bottem
STOP driving it until this is figured out
Also ck radiator cap- something that simple can drive you nuts
some people remove theirs after several years-- and the spring is sitting down inside the rad!! ooops
