Typically, the 95-96 model years tend to be slightly less desirable because they have the extra weight from the targa roof but carry over the 3.0L and 5-speed tranny from the older cars. That said, they still carry a price premium over older models. Assuming clean title (it looks great in the pics), I'd say a fair price would be closer to $37-38k.
The major differences in model years that affect performance break down as follows:
91-94 = coupe, manual steering, 3.0L, 5-speed
95-96 = targa, power steering, 3.0L, 5-speed
97-05 = targa, power steering, 3.2L, 6-speed
$42k is too high for this car.

The Facebook post does say the owner would let it go for less to people "in the circle." I figure if he really needs to get rid of it, he would let it go at that price to anyone.
Ugh...selling a car on Craigslist
most of the ad responses will be either "I'll give you [insert ridiculously low low low-ball offer here]" and will be pissed if you say no or "Will you take monthly payments while I drive it?"
Nice looking NSX though (and the supposive wife isn't bad either
)

That is super clean for sure. I want a 97-01. I really want a coupe but I want the new engine and transmission of the 97-01. I got 5 more years though till I start looking. Hopefully the prices don't go up to much by then.
