cl-s vs a6 2.7t

Whatever BS artist it was who said his acura CL-s smoked an audi a6 2.7t is LYING. No way any stock cl-s will beat a 2.7t, off the line, inthe long run, on mars, on the moon , not anywhere...If he did beat one, there was something wrong with it , or the driver didnt punch it all the way. I took the governer off my 2.7t, and got it up to about 165, no stock cl-s will do that...It also goes 0-6o in 6 flat, and its an auto(when its in auto stick mode)

Wouldn't a 6 speed CL-S give the 2.7T a good run?

Stock for stock a CL-S should beat it. But if the 2.7t even has a ECU/CHIP then no, it will smoke the CL-S. The A6 2.7t is extremly heavy.

Exactly but once modded the CL/TL has no chance. I tried to get one to play with me this morning, but he declined I wanted an A6 but was worried about electrical gremlins so I just got the TL with its glass tranny instead.

Back in the day, I had an automatic 2001 CL-S and my good friend had a 2001 2.7T automatic.

We raced quite often and it essentially was a wash. I was a bit faster from a stop (the weight and slight turbo lag hampered his launch) and he was a bit faster from a roll.

I then got headers and an CAI for my CL and I was definitely faster than the 2.7T. But he could have chipped his car as well, so it really doesn't matter.

Either way, as I said, it doesn't matter at all. Neither car is a drag racer and I have no idea why you posted here.

3924lb for the A6 2.7t

Almost 400lb difference.

a stock 2001 cl-s runs the 1/4 mile in 15.60 and a 2001 A6 2.7T runs it in 15.10.

case closed.

A stock 2001 CL-S runs the 1/4 in 14.8

I ran it in 14.2 with headers and an intake only at Englishtown.

Again, neither car is really fast in a straight line stock, so I don't even know why people are debating this.

This would be a case of magazineraceomia...

And not even a magazine would have those numbers. A stock 6 speed CL-S has hit low 14s. An auto is not 1.5 seconds slower.

Mine ran 15.1 bone stock with bad conditions. I then ran a 14.2 at 99.8 mph with just OBX headers on my CL-S. It was also a Auto. Case Closed back at ya.

HA! I had almost the exact same time with my OBX headers and AEM CAI. It was 14.2 at 99.7 I believe.

It's a heavy car! 265hp and 4000lb and AWD does not equal to fast!

They were done found with a simple internet search and found on a car forum actually for Audis.

I want to make a correction to a item i said. It actually has 250 hp. And the manual gearbox 6mt was able to pull this info:

Once you look under the hood things get more interesting. The 2.7T A6 shares the same 2.7 liter 250 hp bi-turbo V6 that is found in the Audi S4. The 6-speed transmission and brake system are also the same and the exhaust system is similar as well. Official performance numbers are 0-60 in 6.0 seconds and 14.7 seconds for the quarter mile - only slightly slower than the S4.

Seems like such a silly thread.

The A6 is much heavier and slower than a CLS. But i still would rock an A6 over a CLS any day.
