It's on a factory stable release, 2021.43.10x. It is the new UI though. It hasn't received any OTA updates and likely won't for another week at least.

Looks like it needs to be on 2021.44 or later for charging stats:

GFCI breakers are dumb expensive, and they can cause issues with the mobile chargers. Thankfully a wall connector doesn't require that.

And yeah, Zoro had the best price for the Hubbell 14-50; another site had the Bryant for about $20 less though.

But I still prefer the wall connector lol
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Eaton-BR...R260/100168595 the panels in our community are all Eaton-Hammer and used the BR series breakers.. such a pain to find for some reason had to jump around to multiple HD and Ace Hardwares until we found them.. also I misspoke, i went with a 60A, not a 50A to accommodate the max 48A charging on the wall connector.
Ohh you just hardwired it directly to the breaker! I recommended and installed the outlets because who knows what's going to come down in a few years and if they decide to move and the new owner's dont have Tesla's, they can install their own charger connected to the 14-50. I just bought a dryer cord to wire the wall connector

Wait, you're using a 14-50 on a 60amp breaker? That's not to code. The outlet is rated for 50amp, or 40amp derated, so you're exceeding the rating of the outlet if you're running it at 48amps. Pretty sure the dryer cord is only rated to 40amp as well.

First "real" mod done - a swivel mount for the screen. It's SO much nicer having it turned towards the driver.

It can pivot 30* left and right and 15* up and down. The install took about 40 minutes and it all went together easily. The fun mods can't begin until the Golf and all of it's parts are sold.

I'm still enjoying the car, but it definitely lacks a personality. That may annoy me but the convenience of it (scheduling HVAC, charging at home, comfort, cost to run) is really nice. My one compliant are the seats. They're very comfortable, but there is zero lateral support. They remind me of the seats in my dads GMC pickup.

That is cool, I thought having that gigantic screen not pointed towards the driver would be a problem & wondered if there was a solution.

Please to describe these fun mods....

What is the material on the doors & dash (light wood looking)

Agreed on all counts. The car has very little in terms of personality but it's exceptionally good at what it's designed to do. Say what you will about Teslas but they really thought of a lot of things that people would want when they made them. The honk to save dash cam is a huge one that I almost had to use yesterday when some dipshit tried to cut me off. Honk and it saves ALL of the video streams to the flash drive.

It's also not slow.

I don't have honk to save but my 128gb drive (that I had never looked at until last week) had video going back to late December so that's pretty cool (although wading through the files one minute at a time to find what I wanted was a PITA)

lol

It's just little things like that they thought of is neat to see. I don't really care for the gimmicks like the fart noises and video games but they did make it a nice car to drive and a good place to be for a long drive.

I think it's a wood veneer or something. It has a texture as though it is real open pore wood, but it doesn't feel like it. I'm back and fourth on replacing it, we'll see.

Agreed. Lots of cool features that just make sense, and then theres some missing features that make you say why??

It is wood, I read about some people doing a light sanding and staining it a different color.

Thanks!

Purchased. Since Tesla makes it impossible to buy out leases or sell to anyone, it made way more sense to buy.

The good news is that unless the resulting situation requires police or fire department response, you should only be facing civil charges. However, it could quickly elevate to felonious. How do you feel about prison? Can you use your electrical skills to make a water heater or a tattoo machine? (ProTip: read some articles online now so you're prepared later)

I had my first service experience with Tesla service, and it was...ok.

I ordered the Homelink kit and scheduled the install for today. The window was from 730a to 12p. The tech showed up at 11:15a in a Model S with a big Tesla emblem emblazoned on the side. They apparently don't have any uniforms, since the guy was just wearing cargo pants, a t-shirt and boots - but whatever, didn't really bug me, but might bother others. He tore the frunk out in less than 2 minutes, we chatted for a bit, and he got to work while I went back inside for another meeting. He was gone about 15 minutes later; the Homelink was installed and programmed and works well.

What makes the whole experience "ok"? The frunk was bolted down but none of the clips were secured, and the upper access panel (that covers the battery and fluid bottles) was just laying on top, so I had to reattach everything which was kind of annoying. (Pic below is when he first started working).

But, I've put 147 miles on the car since I picked it up, and my rough math says I did that on about 75kWh, or $9 worth of electricity (I still don't have the update that shows me charging stats). I've been driving it pretty much the same way I drove the Golf. But the Golf would have required about 5.5 gallons of 93 for the same distance. So far, I'm impressed.

On the screen.

With the Rivian off the table I might order it too. I don't want to be a poor with the stupid opener on my visor anymore lol.

As same said, it's on the screen. It's nice because you set to open/close when you approach/leave the house. I haven't tested it out yet though.

I'm waiting to see if I receive a survey. If I do, I'll mention it there. Otherwise I'll just be petty, unclip it all, and open another service ticket to have them come put it back together
