35mm f1.8

It's nothing crazy. I love my 50mm, but wanted something a little more useful as the focal length of the 50 is a bit limiting in most of the situations I'm in. The 35 should be here Wednesday

Man you should shoot all the time. Those photos are really excellent in every way. I love how you shot through the weeds for that foreground bokeh and the sunflare in that one.

Much appreciated sir.

My mileage has slowed down tremendously. My commute is now 23 miles each way, and I've been alternating cars since March. I think I've only got around 9k miles on the FRS so far this year.

I wouldn't mind heading up to NH, but I can't swing the time off that soon. I'm taking another 10 days off between now and the end of the year, and really can't take any more time. I do need to put the camera to use though.

This weekend I plan on hitting up C&C Saturday morning, then coming back home to clean up the garage so I can actually park the FRS in it. Its killing me that I've got to park it outside with all the "normal" cars. She's better then that.

Maybe they sell tire shine in NH?

Do you still drive for work, or has that stopped?

I totally understand. I saved all of my vacations for thanksgiving and christmas.
9 days for thanksgiving
7 days for christmas

May be I'll drive down there.
I'll keep you updated if there is a big meAt during winter around here.

Same here with the garage, somehow I have to open up a space for BRZ.

Aman why didn't I get that joke?
I love you man hahaha

Driving all over the place for work stopped. I've got a comfy desk job that I can do either at the data center or from my couch.

If you're going NH, might as well go get some sick a$$ shots at Acadia State Park in Maine...in the Fall...

Funny you mention that, Morgan. With the Canon I had a 50...but found myself annoyed at having to stand 40 feet away to shoot my car (which is usually the subject). I solved that by switching to 35 prime when I swapped to Nikon and I love it.

Nice! Unfortunately, there was a delay on the shippers side, so the lens won't be here until tomorrow.

I can't wait for it to get here though.

Thanks, and this convo is not off topic - when you're in my thread, just remember that anything relating to the cars in the title is considered off topic

My grandmother is from Rhode Island, and she's been living in NY since the late 40s/early 50s. She still doesn't have an 'R' in her alphabet

My friends has actually been bugging me to go with them to Vermont this winter. If I do, it won't be until after the new year, I'm taking too much time off as it is.

^Maine is "Vacationland"! And if anyone hasn't been, you need to. Especially Summertime.

I was born/raised there. Go back every other year, parents still have a camp (house) on a lake.

Not FR-S/SportX Related...

Well I got to play with the 35mm today. I'm not happy with most of the pics I took, but that's mainly because I didn't have the f stop set properly. I love the clarity - at least when what I intended to focus on is in focus I need to play around with this lens a bit more. But here's a few samples:

No shots of my cars; I haven't had the motivation to wash either of them.

I planned on going out this weekend but couldn't motivate myself. Hopefully I'll get out next weekend. First on my list is organizing the garage so I can get the FRS in there before winter hits.

Yes. The car has been garaged all its life, aside from the past three months. It kills me to leave it in the parking lot.
