Well, being long time NASCAR fans, we finally made it to Daytona for the Coke Zero 400...We have been to numerous Daytona 500's and tons of Ford 400's at Homestead...But before yesterday, never the July Daytona race.

It was a longgg day, that started at 5 a.m., with a 4 hour drive north...We watched the Rolex grand am race,looked through all of the displays and got all the freebies. We tailgated for about 5 hours and then went in for the race, after the rain delay of course...I am not uploading all the pics, just the pics from the displays not the race.
They were all taken from my phone, so they aren't the best quality, but enjoy.


We were moving pretty fast through all these, so I didn;t have time to take pics of everything, but all in all there were some pretty great displays, most of them were interactive.

BTW if you like classic car's the turkey run is here every thanksgiving and hotrodders and the like come to show off their rides, and some are even sold here for great prices!

Nope, I didn;t know about a speed park...It must be nice to live right there...Did you go to the race last night?

We put this trip together on Thursday, so kinda last minute compared to the other races where we plan for months and pre order tickets, so we didn't really have time to do/see everything in one day...We are usually there for the weekend.

 

speed park is fun, and hopefully they'll get a chunk of the start line for display since they are redoing the whole track.

What exactly is the speed park, a museum? I cant imagine its another speedway.

 

Its a combination of activities for the speedway, museum and office building... At least I think it's called the speedpark, or Daytona Experience, they keep on changing the name to often.
