Checked out the 645Ci.......
Rolled up to the local dealer, was meeting my buddy there to talk about a car with my salesperson.
Anyway, I pulled up and the owner of the dealer was getting out of his Viper SRT. He came up to the car to say hello and informed me the 6series was inside.
Long story short, the coupe looks infinitely better than the convertible (both were there). I'm still not crazy about the trunk lid. The interior is very personal and sporty, wouldn't exactly call the interior exciting though. Needs a nice set of wheels and a 35% tint.
Overall the car was nice, but the coupe in the showroom didn't even have the Sport package and was just under $73k (vert was slightly under $80k if I recall)....yikes.
Too bad there wasn't one outside, would have liked to take it for a ride...maybe next time.

Sorry no pics, don't want to look like a tirekicking tourist at the dealer.
I agree, it didn't exactly look like a $75k car.....there are other vehicles I would consider at that price before the 6er.

I would love the 6 series and just wait till people test it more and you see them in the streets. Many of you guys posting about how ugly it is will be like...you know it has grown on me.
it a new series so it will look weird but you have to see what they are doing a $75K coupe....it has to have more than what your seeing.
time will tell and Im pretty certain it will effect the CL sales drastically cause it has all the luxury and speed with better handling and not too many people have it
and it looks much better than an M3 if you put one next too each other...the 6 series is much bigger you'll see

this is what makes it
Most importantly, though, the new 645Ci performs. The focal point of the 6 Series' resurrection will certainly be the 4.4-liter V8 liberated from the 7 Series. Winner of the 2002 International Engine Award of the Year, BMW's Valvetronic V8 is simply the best eight-cylinder engine in existence. Never mind that its fully variable valve timing eliminates the need for a throttle plate, improving fuel economy dramatically. Never mind that its 325 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque are class-leading numbers for normally aspirated engines. Rev the big motor past 5,000 rpm and you'll be greeted with the smoothest, sweetest-sounding V8 ever. Clichés like "sophisticated" and "an engine note like ripping silk" were coined for this big block.
It is also lightning quick; its 5.6-second, 0-to-62.5 mph time is surprisingly spry for a coupe weighing 3,500 pounds. And its spread of power is generous as well, as passing acceleration is swift, even when the transmission remains in fourth gear. Making the most of the engine is a choice of no less than three six-speed transmissions — a manual, an automatic and the SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) with paddle shifting. The choice for most Americans will, of course, be the automatic. Unlike most slushboxes, however, the ZF automatic gearbox displays a fair degree of driver control; its Steptronic function offers an automanual-shifting option while, in auto mode, it holds gears longer when it senses the driver is feeling frisky.

Especially comparing the 645Ci convertible vs. the M3 convertible. The M3 is a much nicer looking car.
The trunklid on the 6 really hurts the design imho.

I completely disagree, the E46 M3 is probably one of the best looking BMWs to date. The 6series isn't ugly, but the car just doesn't have the same great looking appearance as the M3.

the E46 is the best looking 3 series cause the old 5 series and the old 7 series are hot as hell.
but I see your point...we'lll see
that stupid trunk sticks out like a cock
yeah, my dad is still wishy washy on getting one, he's on the list but hasnt ordered yet. We checked it out when the first coupe came in. Black/Red w/o the sport. He'd def get the 19's and sport pack, no doubt. It was def a hot car. The interior is spartan but thats how BMWs are, I bet the car handles like a dream. And this thing is pretty huge. I like the size, its def a beast. Wonder if there'll be a 12 cylinder version.
One drove by my house the yesterday -- I live about 1/2 mile away from a BMW/Mini dealership and see people test driving around my side streets all the time. Cannot say the design does much for me either. It's something about the rear end -- I'm not sure what the designers were thinking.
I was a fan of the 635csi and M6, but that was a while ago.
