It's clear that this is the only thing you are interested in, so I'd say the GN is right for you.[/QUOTE]
True, the GN is very much a single purpose automobile. Dreadfully fast but handling and braking that can best be described as adequate. My Accord six speed is far superior in the handling and stopping department. I suppose that's some of the appeal of owning a car such as the GN, or any other older muscle or super car. I enjoy driving my Accord, but have FUN with the GN. Regardless, I wouldn't recommend one as a daily driver, due to both the rapidly escalating values and the maintenance requirements.
Incidentally, and perhaps somewhat off topic, I've always considered my Accord six-speed coupe to be somewhat of sleeper. Attractive yet understated at the same time. A few factory goodies in an otherwise vanilla wrapper. The car was debadged when new and I think it adds only more to the appeal.

The AV6 6MTs are sleepers as even a number of car buffs never pick up on how quick they can be. Only a little red 'V6' badge alludes to the mid-low 14 second potential!

No less than seven sensors control the engine management. The cars have coil packs instead of distributors. And of course the turbo charger itself requires routine care. Because of the extremely low compression ratio to allow the massive amounts of boost the turbo-charging system created the braking system is also of a different nature and is very expensive to repair. Because of the low compression the car's brakes were servo assisted and opposed to vacuum assist. Parts are no longer available.

The advantage of the Typhoon/Scylone platform was the all wheel drive system. It's fun so see one of these things smoke away from the tree with all four wheels spinning.

Sadly enough, there is a 2-3 month wait to get into their shop

I recall when the TTA came out (I think I still have the brochure) that it was pretty much the fastest car GM produced (exc. ZR1). I would not mind picking up one on the cheap and just sticking it in my garage for occassional runs at the track and car shows.
It really is a terrific collector car.

the picture you posted of the GN looks very familiar to me like i have seen it before while me and my dad was looking to purchase one. my dad owned a GN a long time ago and then sold it. he own a speed shop at the time and practically owned every thing that was fast back in the 80's since he only kept cars for a few months and then got something else. the GN is a great car and we've looked periodically to find one as a fun weekend car but also know the value of the car itself.

Nope, I'm the original owner of the old girl. And no, never had the 86' for sale. The 86' and 87' look pretty much the same, the 86' having a chrome grille shared with the 85'. It's getting harder and harder to find a nice example that hasn't been restored. My 86' is basically original except for tires, serpentine accessory belt, battery, and painted driver's door. If you can find one soon, I recommend picking it up.
