Car Mod Advice (bumper and grill insert or gauge pod)

Which would you do?

This (new front fascia and grill insert):

what it looks like stock (i'd most likely paint the silver trim on the pic above body color)

or this gauge pod w/ gauges:

here they are in my gauge color

These are standard around the world w/ the holden, chevy's and vauxhaulls, but for some reason pontiac didn't bring them over

Also thinking about painting my wheels a charcoal instead of either, and getting new tires.

I'd say go for cosmetics. Only you will really see the guage pod.

I like the HSV style bumper. If I were you, I would start with that.

The aqua car? I can't tell if I like that or the more subtle Holden one.

Either the first or last bumper/grill combo...

Don't care much for the second bumper/grill and I don't think the guages would be the best allocation of your funds...

Either one is a more compelling look than the stock Pontiac one.

Why wouldn't you do wheels...go wider and get some more rubber on there!

If not..I like bumper on the black one!

Because like you I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a good combo, and unlike you we don't have a ton of options, or any options I even really like. After spending a good amount of time pushing this car very hard I'm fine w/ what I have as far as size (and that was w/ the shitty stock tires, can't wait to get some T1-R's under her), I'll upgrade to a 245 or 255 when these wear out. But really don't see a need to buy some ugly wheels to fit a 275 under there (if a 295+ was a possibility in our wheel wells I'd go for it right away, but unfortunately it won't happen). Then unlike you, I'll have to do the right thing and lower it if I get wheels (which ='s more $$$) Luckily though, the GTO doesn't have much of a 4x4 stance.

IMO none of those options make the car look substantially better and therefore aren't really worth the investment. I know you said that you dont want to do rimms and rubber but i think the $/reward isn't very good on those cosmetic upgrades when compared to rimms.

Still, if I had to say the first grill is probably the best. Those gagues dont really tell you any need to know info, but its cool that they match.

I like the holden one better.

2nd one looks too ricey with the silver mesh. Might look better with black mesh

the more I think about it, the more I'm w/ you. I'd rather spend it on something i'd enjoy more like, new tires.

I won't do rims, because the only rims I like will run me about $2500 for rims alone. Which isn't going to happen. But I'll save my money on these because when I think about it, none are very appealing to me. I'll save the money for when these tires go, and maybe get rid of this shitty clutch sooner then later. And will also wait to see how the Tein SS coilovers are once they are released.

Both mods look damn good. I would do the bumper/grille 1st, then the pod.

Also the 1st bumper looks better to me!

Bumper and grill insert(I like the first one). That guage pod doesn't look like it matches the dash in the first pic.

it matches perfectly, it's just the lighting. These gauges are standard equipment in these things everywhere but the states.

In that case, I like both. But if I had to choose one, it would be the bumper and insert.

Can you get a good set off gauges for that pod or do you have to use the OEM dummy gauges?

right now just the OEM's, but someone is working on a set of interceptor gauges that have like 60 different readings that will match the color of the radio when lit and the dash.

I will now most likely wait for those

not really feeling any of the bumpers- the first one looks kind of cheap with the black plastic on the bottom. The black one looks best out of all though.

Gauges look cool but seems like the money could be better spent.

Have you done tint or exhaust yet? HID Kit?

Those GTO's are damn ugly.

Spend your money on tires. Those gauges do look really cool though.

The gauge pods are sweet too.

Do both!

done tint, no need for exhaust (car sounds mean enough as it is). could careless about HID's

The gauge pod plus gauges are the same price as buying bumpers and painting them?

Id do grill inserts plus gauge pod. A little of both

well i'm not sure on the prices of the aussie bumpers, last I checked shipping was like $500 alone

but the pontiac stuff is the same price as the gauge pod, not including painting, but I can get that done cheap.
