Financial Tip: Buying a NEW car will be the worst investment of your life. Just saying, this is pretty much a given fact with any new car.

The rest of your post was QFT but this part I had to for a minute.

I have never interviewed anywhere in my career where the folks interviewing me knew what kind of car I drove. I'm not saying that I know for sure that they didn't find out from someone but I normally parked in a garage and went into the building and then waited for them.

One of my managers flew his own plane up from Tampa to interview (he made his money from getting in early at Priceline, the bastard) and they still hired him even though they knew he had enough money to pay for a $225k plane.

That's my anecdotal evidence for the day ... Why would it matter what he drove? Short of working for a non-profit that values austerity
