Calling all wheel fitting experts

Hello all, I have a question for all of you that consider yourself experts when it comes to wheels. Would a set of RDX wheels, Wheel size 19X8 +45 5X114.3, fit in a 1994 Legend GS? As I understand the bolt pattern is the same, but are the other factors here that would prevent the wheel from fitting?
Your help is much appreciated.

I found this site which will give you the information. The Legend is 70.3 and they don't show the RDX but I'm sure the center bore is 64.1 like all of the current Acura models.

Thanks for the response Ron.
Can the center bore of a rim be changed? I'm assuming NOT (easily). So, is there an adaptor/contraption to make a rim with a small center bore fit into a car with a large one?

You can put a bigger wheel on a smaller bore (hub) without much issue if within a certain differential.

Going from a bigger hub bore to a smaller wheel bore would require machining and may not be feasible.

The other thing is that the geometry or materials of the suspension may not be suitable for 19s on a car that was initially shod with 15s or 16s.

So even though you might get them to fit, it may end up making the car unenjoyable to drive.

19s on my 2009 Jetta Sportwagen fit but it sucks driving it.

As others have noted, the bolt pattern is the same but the hub diameter is different. You'd have to have the center bore machined out to 70.1 mm for them to even bolt on (that's the measurement I used). I put some 2002 TL-S wheels on my 1994 Legend GS awhile back and it required the same machine work.

However, the 19x8 you're looking at is just a huge wheel for that car. That's a +3 in size from the stock GS 16" wheels, and the offset of +45 isn't going to be enough to keep them from sticking far out from the fender wells. I ran 18x8's on my Legend coupe for awhile and they rubbed in the back.

I replied to the person who bought the wheels. I have sent him the information I've found, I truly feel bad for him but I think it was up to him to determine if the wheels fit his car or not. I don't think he really know what he was buying anymore, he sounded so confident when we spoke on the phone I thought he did.

Those look great on that car man. Nice refreshing look to a classic.
