well allow me to summarize for you... the Gallardo got pwned.

 

cant see the vids but is it a 1/4 race? The gallardos are notoriously bad in the 1/4 because of their tuning and AWD.

its a straight line roll-on race on the street, probably from around 40-60 mph til about 150 or 160.... just estimating... 2 runs.. actually I thought the Gallardo held its own better than I thought it would. The Z06 didn't start smokin' it until after like 2 gearshifts... until then, it looked pretty much even..

The cars should have started even instead of the zo6 having a couple car length head start, would have been more interesting having the lamb jump right ahead and then the vette reeling it back in.

The Vette does do the speed thing very well. Awesome.

Z06 with no navi = Pretty-near awesome

 

^^actually i kind of feel like a pure sports car shouldn't have a navi; at least one that doesn't hide away.

 

I'd rather have the vette than the Gallardo (cost/money not being a factor). Now, through a Diablo into the mix..I wouldn't even see the vette sitting next to it.

 

the gallardo dont even have lambo doors, i'll take the z06 tt it and have money left over

 

I love watching these videos with high powered cars and the drivers have one hand on the steering wheel. If that car got sideways on him, he better hope he left it in competition mode.

I agree, but there is still and always will be some fascination with $70k of American muscle whooping $200k of Italian ass, no matter what the stakes are. I mean, it's obvious what the outcome of this race was gonna be. But ppl still like watching the race

 

The vette driver does look to have a loose hand, but it is stick. When pushing the car I would have one hand on the wheel instead of switching the shift hand back and forth between shifts, but i'd also have a firm grip on the top of the wheel...

 

Someone argued with me that the vette only won because the Gallardo was not the top of the line lambo. When i told them that the vette was only 8cyl with 505 horses and the Gallardo was a v-10 with 495, they didnt believe me. And this is a kid with a fucking NSX for God's sake. He's the fakest enthusiast in the world.

 

That's not the proper way to drive. Any drivers school(ie racing school) will teach you to make a quick shift and then move your hand back on the wheel.
