BRZ, WRX, 370z
Looking to buy one of the three, all brand new, my price range is around 35k and lower.. Possibly under 30k. But will make exceptions for the Z. Which one do you guys think is best? I Currently own a 2g TL

drive all three. All good cars as general reliability. It needs to fit YOU. Idk even know which I'd buy.

I want something fast, but fun to drive. the z appeals to me because it's automatic is just as fast as its manual.. and i dont know how to drive manual yet, i will gladly learn how if i were to buy a brz though! it's a hard decision. i just want a nice car that is fun to drive and can give me short power sprints

All three are pretty stout cars, but if your arguement for the Z is that its automatic is as fast as it's manual, I would probably rethink it a little bit. Top speed is nice but in all honesty, when are you going to get to use it? Of these three, two are rear drive, one is awd. It's quite a selection, but I'm with the rest here, drive each one and see what feels better. Also when you are driving these cars, dont just drive around the block and call it a day, get to actually know each cars attitude

Who ever is the biggest dealer on your island is where you'll find the best price and the most connections for affordable aftermarket goodies. I'm guessing Nissan has a pretty large service system considering how many I have seen over there. Plus the Z is well established ride, vs. the BRZ which is new.
WRX? You really wanna be one of those guys?
This^ is the only thing the guys in th WRX will see!!

Three Wheelin'
My buddy went to look at all of these and came home with the WRX base. He has had 2 350z's and a older STI. He thought the WRX was over all a whole lot more car for a DD against the BRZ for just a couple grand more.

You have a choice, and yet you choose to get an automatic? Might as well get a family sedan.

this carries over from the other thread, I think the BRZ is a great choice. But in manual.

OP, are you looking at a specific (automatic) car right now?

Oh Hullow
i dont know how much of a drop off the WRX is from the STI in terms of fun, but damn I had a blast driving the new STI. however, the looks are not for me. Me personally, I would get a Z, as it is more my style.
Don't be intimidated by a manual transmission. I previously bought a 99 328i in manual without having a firm grasp on driving MT. It becomes second nature. Take it out late a night a few times when there's few people on the road and learn. I was comfortable within 2 days.

If it were me, I would get the Z (has anyone said Z yet?). But since you are 18, you should get a BR-Z. Less power and lighter car so you don't kill as many people when you crash it.

Thats the only thing rare about it. They scream 18 year old drift fan boy to me and are already getting to be on every street corner. I saw 3 yesterday within 5 miles, one of which keeps driving by my house and revving its engine.
370z all the way, man. You won't be bored.

You see them often because its a good car. Not sure how some think thats a downside.

Im not saying it isn't a good car. Its like a Vette...great car, but the first complaint you always hear is that there are too many of them.

People on here will just tell you to get the car with the bigger engine because they think power is everything.

When both cars ride on rails, what other factor would be the decider? This isn't a Mustang vs BRZ thread.

Really surprised nobody has mentioned the Genesis Coupe.
Personally, I'd take a look at a 2.0T (or 3.8 for that matter) GC. It's right around your budget, it's sporty, it's "luxurious" (I use that lightly, but compared to the tech in the WRX/BRZ it's more upscale IMO), and the 10 year Hyundai warranty can help in the long haul.
I've had my parents fetch an insurance quote for a '13 Genesis Coupe, and paired with the insurance rate drop when I turn 18, the Genny would end up being right around the same ballpark as insuring my TL at 17.

Nothing to do with how enjoyable it is to experience amazing engineering and design...
Edit: OP, go with the BRZ. Yeah it's popular, but its also cheaper to pay for, cheaper to insure and more economical. Unless you arent paying for any of this, then it doesn't really matter.

What's with the hate for WRX and it's drivers? Best car community I've ever been a part of, unless things changed in 5 years.
BRZ and the Z are sports cars without much regard to space, practicality and bad weather. If you can afford to own a sports car by all means buy one -- wish I could. If you need to carry people and take trips to the snow, the WRX is a great choice and has a very time-proven drivetrain.

OP is gone.
Now I must find another young guy to follow on-line so that I may live vicariously through him and remember the 'good-ol-days' when I wasn't strapped down to a $1,900 a month house payment in a neighborhood full of unemployed stay-at-home pricks and not married to a fat chick.
