what about a Hyundai Elantra? Out of the cars listed, I would go w/ the Accord, then the Mazda3.

On a side note, your brother is a douche for not wanting a used car. He's screwing your parents on cash when it comes to depreciation, he's being a snob and should be happy he's even GETTING car, and lastly, he can broaden his scope so much more if he looks used. Shit, get an '03-'04 WRX w/ low miles and call it a day. But that's just me.

Your right. The sentra's rear does look . I'd tell your brother that he can get more car for the buck if he went certified pre-owned though. I'm completely happy with my used 02 TL-P.

Edit: Replace Sentra with Altima, but they are both kinda ugly anyways.

That's what I think everytime I see a thread like, "which wheels do you like better" - "which color CL should I buy" "which exhaust sounds the best" etc.

It's not only you, I wish I could get a new car... but then again I still wouldn't choose a new car over teh CL-S, of course this isn't helping your brother at all.....

Test drive the Mazda 3 and Accord side by side, also is he keeping this car for a long time? If so ask what little things that can't be changed will annoy him in the future, or is he into customizing the car so looking at parts availiable and options is another aspect (I think the Mazda has this category? I may be wrong), just because stockwise the mazda is faster (or vice versa) doesn't mean it'll ALWAYS be faster w/ mods, alsoooo since Mazda is made my Ford wouldn't it depriciate faster? and more maintenance? Is he paying for maintenance? Does that even matter? The Accord IMHO sounds like a better investment but it really depends on how long he's keeping the car.... Under 5 years I say Mazda 3, over 5 years teh Acc.

Most kids aren't even lucky enough to get a brand new car, so he should be happy with anything.

Well he should just pick something already, they are all good cars, so it's not like one of them would totally change his life...

your right, I posted earlier about the 3. Then I started here the dumbest reasons NOT to get a free car from your parents and the shit got old. He just needs to pick one the choices from the beginning, all are good cars and he just be thankful his parents can do this for him.

hmm, a helpful post in a long time. he never thought of those things u mentioned. he has a part-time job, wants to have modded to about 170/180 hp in the end(no big). he's keeping the car for about 5 or 6 years. he's not paying for maintenance. and mazdas by ford?

Get Mazda 3! Mazda 6 has better performance having impressive Mazda clutch disc but is more expensive. Mazda 3 equally looks stunning as Mazda 6 and might be perfect for your bro!

Just love how it looks:

As for the lancer (WHICH IM NOW IN LOVE WITH):
Seriously, is your brother really going to use the full potential of that Mazda 3's speed/power so much that the lancer's abilities would seem so weak that all of those interior goodies won't be worth it? I doubt it, I think you should give that lancer a looksie, if he still wants the mazda 3 then I guess he's sold on it.
