I'd still pay close to 40K for a 330Ci. An '03 with 18s is right at $42,500 sticker.

I'm not saying it's a bad deal.... Just that I'm happy with my purchase.

And for those of you who are serious about maybe doing this...

When I was shopping just two weeks ago and had the dealer do a national search on a Silver/Steel Blue/Steel Gray/Topaz Blue with balck or grey inteiror with Premium/Sport/Xenon/Cold Weather, only THREE '03s existed in the entire country.

When I was shopping for a car the BMW dealer said they would apply any incentivies to a car you ordered if you had a VIN before the incentivies expired.

I don't know the restrictions on the current incentivies.

I owned a BMW. Unless I get a major pay raise I won't get one again. All the little hassles are not worth the handling and 'prestige'.

Darn ACURA! I love the look and the engineering in the bmw 330Ci but my CL 6-speed spoiled me. I drove a 5 speed 02 330Ci and I couldn't get over the slow acceleration. I am really astounded at how many 3 series are sold in the US, it's amazing at those prices.

But bmw brand loyalty and appeal and image are top notch. I guess that's what you pay for. I'm sure all car makers would kill for their loyalty and prestige. I guess I'm too picky, but for those prices I want more than they are offering. I paid $15,000 less for my 03 CLS6. Still wish it looked sportier like a bmw tho!

The 330Ci was near the top of my list. I really do like the cars. But Acura has spoiled me with few repairs, speed, best shifter in most any segment, lower cost, and loaded.
Hard to justify the bwm admission price, darn Acura!

i agree with you wholeheartedly about our cl's

its just an unusual opportunity to be able to save like $5-6 grand on a 330ci, where they always got sticker price

I was looking at a 330i and couldn't justify the $12k more for it. I know folks say it isn't that much, but when you add the options is rockets right up there.

So with the money I saved, I got to add some mods, some of which I would have done to the BMW, so I'm a happy camper.

Especially since most of my driving is straight aways where the TLS is more than a match for the 330i. If I lived in a hilly or mountainous area, then I would rather have the BMW.

All this talk about the 330 is making me :wackit: . Man I LOVE the look of that car (best looking coupe on the streets), but my CL P is more luxurious than it (for lots cheaper). Trust me though, if I could afford a new one, I'd probably talk myself into getting one.

$42,500. Scrib, you equipted the 330 w/ the same packages that I did.

The price is the reason why I'm driving a Acura CLS. More bang for the buck IMHO.

Maybe when I'm a older yuppie, I'll buy a BMW, but for now the CLS is just fine.

I coulda stepped "up" to the Beemer but it just wasn't enough bang for buck. Plus, where I live there's so damn many 3 Series running around -- I kinda like the exclusivity I have with my CL-S

Ditto.

Wasnt the MSRP that kept me away, its the overpriced maintenances and reliability issues which i didnt wanna deal with in the long term.

Looks like all the G35/Z sales are affecting BMW. Even with the incentive, they're still too much.

Yep, competition is a good thing for the customer. It's not good for the manufactors as there is a continuing battle to see what car offers the best "bang for da buck". The Dealer incentives are a good indictator that BMW sales are suffering.

With all the great cars out there right now, it'll be interesting to see what'll be available in the next few years as some car makers will need to "raise the bar" over what they are producing now (BMW included).

Too bad Acura doesn't have a coupe in their lineup to compete w/ the G35, Z, BMW
