Maybe because he's an AT.

You've seen the numbers in that original thread you started over there. The TSX walks an A4 1.8T stock to stock. From start a roll and on the highway. Its not even close Jesal.

Actually just checked. The only head to head race we have of a MT vs AT TSX at a timed track there was only about a 0.6 sec difference. 15.5 to 16.1.

I think 3700 or so shipped but not installed. Although I'm sure someone else can provide a more accurate number.

So what does a chipped A4 do timewise in the 1/4? I think my friend's ran 14.8 Well whatever it does, considering its $3200 less than the SC for the TSX, its not that bad.

A chipped (hondata) TSX with intake and header will run sub 15 also.

Agreed. A chipped Audi is one of the greatest Bang for the buck mods in the automotive world. What shocks me the most is the apparent improved fuel economy as well.

Just keep in my that A4 usually costs an added 4-5K more than a TSX though.

I'm pretty sure he's refferring to the MT. Hondata doesn't have the same effect that the chip does. In fact Hondata only nets you a few more ponies on the top end. Its the 20-30 HP gain at 6000 RPM that helps, the fact that VTEC kicks in earlier, and the increased redline.

Like I said usually. Do you have Nav, because a non-Nav TSX will cost 27K

Have a look at this vid Jesal. This is a non-SC MT with Hondata, CAI, Exhaust, Header, Throttle body etc. JTso has too many mods for me to keep track of.

I meant MT. Someone on the TSX board posted a sub 15 sec. 1/4 with those mods. I think the 06 MT would be even faster (relatively speaking). It has (arguably) 12-14hp more than the 04-05 models and hondata reported similar gains on the 06 as on the 04-05.

So, round numbers speaking, $27K (06MT) + $200 (intake) + $400 (header) + $600 (reflash) and you get a $28.2K TSX capable of probably matching that 14.8sec 1/4.

TSX would be a great car and an even greater bang for the buck if:
- Upped the hp ( ) to at least 220hp or used a variant of the S2000 engine around 240hp
- Fix the leather....feels like you could purchase all the leather from one seat for $1

Oh...and my Tahoe walked a 318i on Wednesday and a 323i yesterday.

couple things: The TSXs block is basically a souped up Accord 4 popper block. to go to a S block would be impossible with the Accord block due to the way it sits in the car. the S motor sits "longwise" and the every other honda (car) I'm aware of sits side ways. plus all S motors are built under REALLY REALLY REALLY tight quality. that's why you can get 10 grand RPMs out them stock. the tolerance is really tight. They are Japan built motors. I doubt if they could continue to build the S motor the RL motor, the Japan only models and some other cars Plus the TSX motor if it went over there. plus shipping would increase.
If we brought the Something like this to Anna (the Honda engine plant) we'd have to have a elite build team with a new line. which= big $$.
I wouldn't raise hell about 200 hp N/A 4 popper.

According to the old SAE ratings system that the 04/05 TSX was rated on, the new 06 TSX actually is making around 215 hp. Pretty close to that 220 you were looking for.
