Hey guys,

I'm trying to paint a couple things on my car black chrome but i want to do it with aerosol cans. Has anyone doesnt this? I know its usually a two step process, spray a black base coat and chrome clear coat. I'm having trouble finding a chrome clear coat in hardware stores. I was wondering if i could do a chrome base coat and do a black clear coat, would it give it the same look? and could i use black clear tinting spray paint that people use to tint their tailights?

I saw a kit at autozone or advanced, its for painting blackchrome, (in the rim paint department)

 

did a little more researching, is this the kit you saw in autozone?

Lots of guys used a spray tint over the chrome or smoke duplicator metal color. Good results but not black chrome
