Best Touch-up paint options?

Bastards...

I've heard some people say Dr Color Chip works well, but I want to get all my options. I heard you can just buy a paint pen from a dealer that matches the OEM paint, but I'm not sure if that's for small rock chips, how overpriced it would be by comparison, etc.

What do you all use?

For my car I got a duplicolor pen from Canadian Tire eh. They make them in OEM colors such as crystal black pearl for my car. For my wife's car I got a paint pen from the dealership for like $5 more than Canadian Tire eh.

Both have pen and brush features and are perfect color matches.

I just checked duplicolor and they have a different color listed for my vehicle Eternal Blue Pearl vs Aegean Blue Pearl. Unless they are indistinguishable..?

That's weird but it should also have the paint code along with the name of the color. I would check that too

If you know any body shops or have a personal relationship with any managers at body shops, ask them for some touch up paint for you. Usually it's spot on.

Looks like a scuff that might come out. Does it catch on your fingernail when you scrape it? Have you tried using a scratch remover or polishing compound first?

Yep

and no. I'm a :noob: when it comes to this level of detail work. Is touchup paint going to make it look off that much? I do have a bottle of polishing compound because my car has one small eyesore of a sunspot on the roof that I'm trying to get time + decent weather to get after. If polishing compound will work then I could go that route... but again, my fingernail does drag on it.
