Best time to buy a car
So my sister needs a car and we are thinking of a couple...Corolla, civic, camry, accord. My parents dont want to spend too much maybe 15k. So is it near the end of each month that is the best time to negotiate prices or should we wait til 2008 models come out so the 07 prices go down?
also i was wondering if anyone knows of the Accords still have the transmissions problem. I know as of 2002+ accord models there were transmission problems, did honda ever get that fixed as of yet?

Generally Aug/Sept is a good time to grab some leftover models, but the choice of colors, etc. is going to be limited to what ever in on the lots.
When the new model year vehicles show up on the lots in Sept. the prices will go down futher on the remaining leftovers. In Sept 2002, when the 2003 Accords were showing up on the lots I had an offer of 1700 under invoice for a 2002 Accord EX V6 coupe but it was in silver (I ended up spending alot more for a red cl 6spd).
This only applies on new cars, so if you're looking at used cars, it doesn't matter as much. For used cars, the best time to buy is whenever you need a car

From what I hear Toyota is selling TOO many cars believe it or not. They are selling so well that the dealerships don't have enough bays ... Toyota is forcing them to build more.
Point being, I don't know how many Toyotas are going to be left in late September.
Buicks? Definitely

Did I hear Buick?? There's nothing wrong w/ a '07 THE STICK or maybe a '07 Lucerne if THE STICK is too small for her. Everyone needs a 3800 (Even if its a Series-III) in thier life sooner or later.
Edit: ROFL! I just read what I wrote..... The Stick = Lacrosse, not some sexual reference.

I also thought it was only the V-6 auto trannies that were the problem; IDK about the auto trannies with the 4-cyl having any issues.

I've always thought Februray is a good month to buy... because it's a very short month, and yes... I understand their quotas are measured by the past Februrays, but it's just that much harder to make quota cuz there's less days... It's also right after the holidays and people are kinda broke AND tax season around the corner... again, less people shopping for anything... It's especially good if the last day of the month lands on a weekday... (looking at cars the last weekend, tallk negotiate but don't buy, let them call you the last day of the month) . just my

Just as the above said, Feb is a great month to buy I had that eating out of my palm during the last days of Feb and if you go towards closing its helps out even more.
Lets say you go in 1 hour before close, put them through their pace. Stall, delay make them stay past closing for 1 or 1.5 hours and you can own them for a good price. It has worked 80% of the time. They dont want to stay till 10pm or 1030pm and have you walk out and do nothing . They will say " what do we have to do to make this deal".

And plus my grandma car can kill a ricer and his 4-banger any day.
take it from a former car salesman (good one too) end of the month is by far the best. to get the best deal go last day of the month, be ready to take the car home the same day, that is the real important thing!!! dont tell them you are ready make them convince you of it by droping $$$ off the price, tell them no, no, no, make the guy give up till your talking with the manager, then give them the number you want to pay! remember its a game, play along...and beware of the financing, that where you really loose your cash!
know your invoice and rebates. left over modles are always good too.
