I have a valentine 1 and have had it for about 3 years now, it has saved my rear end from getting a ticket quite a few times but IMO all the radar detectors are obsolete these days cause almost all cops use "instant On" now. Your detector now is only good to tell you "get ready to pull over buddy".

If I was you i'd just buy them a portable navi unit such as Garmin, that is if they dont have OEM nav.

If you are running all alone and they hit you with instant on, you are toast. However if there are other cars around, a good detector will pick the cop up a couple of miles away when he is tagging someone else. If you ease up then you are ok.

Don't screw around with the cheapies, get a good one. My preference is the Escort 8500, Valentine is also good. They cost more but they are worth every penny.

V1 is good, but it's not all that, I believe 8500 is just as good, if not better(you know, which the gps false alarm thingie).

I had a 8500, now a V1 for about 4 years. Love it! V1 rated the best still.

This has been talked about many times before, do a search here you might find more info.

Funny (and perhaps ironic) that you are the only one who replied more then once mentioning the V1.

That said, V1 all the way. Over the years, I had both and love the V1. Only one I'll every own.

And yeah, you may want to try a search. This has been discussed many, many times...

I'll do the honors... it's not really something that needs to be discussed again
