beater car to insure?
I have been thinking of picking up a beater pos to put in the driveway to insure myself on so then I don't have to be the primary driver on the RL or RX. Any suggestions for a cheap beater to insure?

Umm...not sure what's cheap to insure, but stay away from anything on the Top 10 stolen cars list. Stay away from Focus's too, they are $ to insure cuz they are built like crap.

Aaaarrrggghhhh!
I'd go with a mid 90's Toyota Celica. I've owned 3 in the past (90, 92 and 94) and I have to say they are cheap to insure and maintain. Not the fastest in the world, but great little commuter/beater cars.

Hmm. My dilemma is that we have a doctor in the house, and I can't put basic liability. I have to have the high end limits of coverage (1 mill on everything). I know this is driving up the insurance costs. Thanks for the suggestions everybody, I will call my ins. agent and mention these to find out how much we can save.

So you're not going to drive it? It's just for insurance reasons?
In that case, pick up a really really old car, like a 1990 Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. They can be had for very little money, and if your other car is ever in the shop these things will both at least drive.
