Beat my tint ticket.
Beat my tint ticket.
I knew my tints were illegal when I put them on, but I was like "fuck it I'll never get caught". Two weeks later, I got caught.
I was just going to pay the $102 fine, but I ended up getting a doctors note from my friend's cousin who's an optometrist...."Patient suffers from photophobia. Please allow him to wear sunglasses in glass and to tint his car windows." I didn't think it would work, but in court I showed it to the judge and he threw out my ticket!
Now I'm gonna be rolling with 5% limo tint all around.

its a bitch. I got 5% on the back windows of the Pathy and 20% on the fronts. I typically like a uniform look, but its a truck. And yeah...reversing at night can be fun in unlit areas

I'm glad that you got around a ticket for which you should've been responsible for (since you did break the law) while putting that doctor in risk of breaching his ethical duties.
Better hope you never get in an accident with that tint on, cause if they other party realizes you have limo tint and sues you, they're gonna definitely be asking that doctor a few questions about the legitimacy of that "prescription."

2) get a front bracket to put on your front plate
3) get it tested at a state referee, if your exhaust is under 95dB you're safe.

That last bit of info I had in my previous post was actually advice I was giving you. One of our firm's clients was run over by some guy with full limo tint all around (including the windshield). We had him give us his "prescription note" and when we deposed the optometrist and asked for all medical records, the optometrist admitted that he never even saw the guy and just wrote the prescription as a favor. We joined the Optometrist as a defendant, and the case ended up settling for 7 figures. As for the optometrist, suspended license.
As for the other guy with the exhaust problem, definitely go get the sound levels tested. I ran a really loud (I mean really freaking loud) setup on my old STi and got a ticket (even though the exhaust was street legal). Took it to a state inspection site, and it was under 95db.
you sure got lucky with that ticket. my buddy tried to fight his tint ticked in court. after judge found out he still had tint on after the ticket, he gave him $2000 fine LOL. his lawer got it down to $500. they don't mess around in IL. I still got my shit tinted though. just roll those windows down when cop is coming up
Anyhow. if you show prescription to a cop it's not the end of it. cop can still give you a ticket. it's up to a judge to decide if you will still have to pay it. I was told so by a cop.

But anyways, it's not like the optometrist I went to wrote me the prescription without me seeing him. I went there, he dilated my eyes, wrote a lot of stuff down into a file, and then told me (this is the truth) that my contact lenses did some damage to my cornea so I do have a very subtle sensitivity to light...enough for him to write me the prescription without it looking fishy.
Thanks though.

I've been lucky with my tint, no problems so far.
However, I took off my front plate a few weeks ago. I went to a friends house and parked on the street in front of his apartment. An hour later, I go outside to leave and I find a ticket for a $108 for no plate!
I was pissed!! That street always has speeding cars flying by but some douchebag cop gives me a ticket for my plate?!?! My plate was in my trunk so the next day I put it back on, drove down to the police station in a small neighboring town, showed the ticket to the officer at the front desk. He didn't even bother going outside to verify I had the plate mounted. He just signed it off as verified and said, "Have a good day."
I went home and took the plate back off
and now I just have to mail in $10, which still sucks but not nearly as much as $108!
