Well...I think that was me . However, the ride difference is huge the 4 piston calipers...the 13.5" rotors...etc.

My only black car was a long time ago and I only had it for less than 2 months (what a surprise). They do look good clean, but clean lasts for minutes.

Would it make more sense to just rent cars?

The r-spec is an amazing car though. Congrats.

Love it. Ditch the pin striping though.

How long do you plan to keep this one?

R-Spec

My friend just got a black/black 3.8 and I love it. I imagine I would be head over heels for a R-Spec.

Congrats

overall it was great for what it offered, but it started to feel like the body needed to be stiffer. With the panoramic roof, there was too much flex for me,

Awesome! Test drove one back in November, and was very impressed. You will definitely enjoy your commute a little more now.

I haven't really tried yet...only 80 miles, but I did launch a few times with the test ride car. You can feel the 5.1 second 0-60

So what percentage of your driving career do you think is spent just breaking the cars in?

Just took a break from writing an English paper and wound up reading this entire thread.. not even mad about. Very captivating car history and stories, can't wait to see/read what you have in store down the road!

I liked the 3.8 that my wife is now driving. I really liked it a lot. My wife (who never really cared for cars) told about some issues with the new Kia. So like any good husband, I took the car to the dealer for repair and left the 3.8 with her. The next day she told me she had never enjoyed driving a car like she did with the Genesis sedan and kidded that she didn't want to give it back to me.
She has always been good about my car addiction, so when she said that i had tomgive it to her. So...like the good husband I am, I gave her the car and traded in the Optima.

Here's where the story gets better...

I have been a part of Hyundai's think tank which is just a group of enthusiasts that give feedback and ideas. The CEO John Krafcik even does live chats with us. So I get an email inviting me to the press days of the New York auto show as a guest of Hyundai and get some time to sit down and talk with him.
Turns out he's really just a car guy with some great instincts and a mind for business. We talked about many things including the Equus and the problems I was having with trying to get in to one. He calls the regional and puts me in touch with him directly...and must have told him to take care of me. A couple of days later I get a call from the GSM of a dealer that I hadn't tried and he rolls out the red carpet for me. I originally went there to look at an Equus, but fell in love with the R.

So the short answer to your question is I really love the car. I've had a chance to put a couple thousand miles on it and it just gets better. This is the best car I've owned.

So now ask me if I'm a Hyundai fan boy?
