Yummy. If that car drives anything like my wife's A4 2.0T it will be a blast to drive.
Gotta disagree on the overpriced though. It's prices between the A4 and A6... isn't that where you'd expect the A5 to be?

on $50k car, your payment is like $800 on 3 year lease.
S5.....
over $1000 payment.

$50,000 on a 4-cylinder luxury car..... I'm not the brand/badge/prestige-whore type, but even that makes me scratch my head. People (not myself) knock Acura a lot for having a 4-cylinder only TSX (now available with V6) and yet Audi manages to escape this. I love the styling on ALL of the new Audis, but then I see the price... yikes!

I happen to think the A4 is overpriced also

I don't see why the A5 should be priced about the A4. It's basically just an A4 coupe. Naming the car A5 and 5 being higher than 4 is not justification to me. Marketing gimmick.
I guess it's similar to the 3 series, which has a $2k premium for the coupe over the sedan. In the case of the A5 and A4, however, the price premium is more like $3700 for the coupe.
Can someone clear something up for me. I test drove a 09 A4 at BMW driving event just over a month ago. The steering was terrible, way too light, no feel. Is there a sports package that stiffens it up or do all A4/5's have that feather light steering?
I know with the BMW there are things standard on the coupe (xenons, sport suspension) that are not on the sedan, which would justify the increase. Not sure if that is the case with Audi.
So is this 2.0T putting out the same numbers as the A4?? 258lb-ft?
If so, when chipped, this car will be very fun to drive at 333lb-ft.
This is of course if the same tune from the B8 A4 will apply to the S5.

I think even the A5's with the 3.2 engine are overpriced in comparison to the competition. Most of the new 3.2 A5's at my local dealer run from $52k to $57k depending on options. I've found low mileage used S5's for the same amount.
In any case, most new cars are overpriced if you think about the depreciation hit.

I've been looking to buy an A4 2.0T, pretty loaded, and I'm looking at a 47,700k MSRP. That's almost 20k more than what I paid for my '04 TSX! Still, I'm willing to pay the premium for what I get in return. I guess killer feels sorry for me
s14, which Audi dealership do you work at?
Oh and I hear the 2.0Ts have great tunability. All you need is a chip and it'll significantly boost your performance for about $500.

honestly, I think I like the how Audi steering wheel feels... it's not too stiff but not too soft, feels right in between bmw and lexus. I feel like bmw/mb steering wheel feels little too stiff for my taste. I hate our family car mb e350 because whenever I make a turn, I actually have to help the steering wheel to turn back.
Nice, I only live 2-3 miles from there. Never been in an Audi before, could I check one out with a B&O sound system if you're ever bored at work and have some time?
A5 = my fav car in it's class, although I do think it's overpriced for the performance you get.

Feel free to come check any car.
meh. just come and check out any car in the show room... I will give you a ride in A5 MT.... let's if they are still under power.
PM your name? and ill go whenever is most convenient for you
let me know when you are coming down.
I think the key with the A4 and A5 is to show restraint with the option packages, which drive up the price quickly. I don't think the price of an A4 or A5 with only Premium +, sport package and possibly nav is too unreasonable. However, things to start to become very expensive if the cars are optioned with things like the the Prestige package, Audi Drive Select, adaptive cruise control, etc.
