Not saying it can't happen in a car either....but a motorcycle???

There are millions of motorcycles ridden every day on the streets of the USA. If you take your precautions and enjoy the ride, you can have fun and not have to live your life in fear!

I give up if I ever start living my life saying "what if"
I would rather die at 30 and have NO regrets then to live to be 90 and afraid of life

yungin, i'm not sure if you have Foremost insurance in your area, but check it. they go based on credit score, and not so much on the bike itself.
my friend just bought his '08 cbr600RR, and it's only costing him $1100 for FULL coverage (his credit score is 760). After the 1st year, and assuming he doesn't miss payments, it'll drop down to $875, and still for FULL coverage.
Best part of it is, my friend only has his permit, and they insure permit riders.
right now, i have Foremost on my CBR600 ('03) and i only put liability on it, so i'm only paying $250 for the year.
Foremost Insurance FTW!
haha

I would not purchase a brand new 250 if you're going to go with a new bike. I would purchase a used 250 (under $2000) and practice on that one and then sell it for a minimal loss and pickup a new 600.

I passed too, but I almost dropped the bike on the braking section. I had a killer brake length, but I somehow got caught up downshifting to 1 that I almost tipped it over. I used all my strength to not let that damn 250 go down. hahaha.

Maybe things have changed, and there is no longer a written test for the MSF?

Excuse my Sloooooooowness.
but you are saying there is no written test as a part of the MSF?
...is there even a classroom session anymore?

there is a classroom and a written test. But it does not bypass you from still having to take the written test at the DMV for your permit/license. This is different in some states, for example my Sister-in-law in VA it waived both parts of the DMV requirements.

I guess you did.

The only hard part: waiting forever at the DMV.
M1 license FTW

In NC you still have to take the written test for the permit, the MSF card just waives the riding exam for the license.

Ahh, makes more sense now. The way you answered Moog I thought you didn't need to take the written test at the MSF either since he asked you about the written MSF test, not the DMV written test. Get it now ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

In my opinion, currently one of the best motorcycles currently available. I know of many experienced and knowledgeable riders who prefer their SVs to other bikes they may have in their stable.
I've ridden one on a few occasions, and it's V-twin powerplant is a marvel of tractability and mid-displacement performance.

So i've put almost 2,500 miles on the bike now, just finally got around to cleaning the carbs, wow what a difference! This thing is like a brand new bike! Next up are new tires, and then I'm going to replace/revalve the suspension. Then to the brakes.
But overall, i'm addicted, i'm gonna ride this ugly POS for sometime (It rides/runs great, just looks like complete ass; some idiot painted it with a roller).
I want a new bike, but will enjoy this one for another 6-7 months (Plus the wife would kill me, I still don't know how I got this one in the house.......but then again she thought it was a "scooter" till I brought it home)
