Anyone know what a gifted motor is??
most things produced follow a bell curve distribution. 90~% are all alike and produce the same power, 5 % on the bottom end are weak engines, while 5% on the top end are engines that are stronger than the other 95%. These would be the "gifted engines". This is just a generic set of numbers for engines i dont know what the real numbers are.
from the dealer, my car had the abiltiy to surpass the rev limiter ( without ecu yet )
then i bought one and had it tuned to see what powers i could make, none up high, so i built the head ( cam
) and at 7000 its like WUT ahaha id say thats a factory freak

My son's '97 Monte Carlo Z34 (215hp 3.4 DOHC w/ 4 spd auto,) ran a 15.17@90.7mph down the 1/4 w/ 86k on the clock and not a single modification done, all the way down to a paper air filter.....that's one hell of a factory freak. I'm sure it's about having the right combo of motor, trans, and pcm, not solely the motor.
