Any experience w/ these trucks??

Started off great day but also kinda confusing as well. Long story short, company is giving me a truck for business use ONLY (meaning all the driving between Monday thru Friday). Initally I didn't have the option of picking one out, rather I would drive someone else's old truck which would have been 2000-1 Chevy 1500 Regular Cab with more than 100,000 miles on odometer. Well things worked out better for me and they've decided to give me a brand new truck. My options are:

2007 Chevy 1500 Silverado Regular Cab (V-6 Model)
2007 Chevy Colorado Extended Cab (Not sure if it's I-4 or I-5)

Because it's brand new truck, I'll be driving till this thing dies or until I get promotion for better vehicle. So I would like to make my decision carefully. We have power to choose obvisouly which car, what color and some of options available (for example, CD player...etc). Just looking at engine-capability, I-5 Colorado has more hp but less torque than V-6 Silverado. But then I'm not sure if we are getting I-5. Keep in mind, my daily driver has been 03 CLS so driving around in Silverado would take awhile to get used to due to its size. Company is paying for gas, insurance and maintenance so I don't have to worry about costs. I will not be carrying passengers often, especially not more than 1 so extended cab doesn't mean that much to me. I'm thinking black for both models. Anyways, if anyone has experience w/ these trucks, please do share. Sooner I make my decision, sooner my CLS gets to sit at home and rest. Thanks guys

Unless the company doesn't mind you going offroading or towing large things, i dont think the hp or torque should even be an issue to consider. and also you said you wouldn't be carrying more than one person so i think that should make up your mind.

I would take an extended cab easily over a standard cab, but if it's the I-4 I can't imaging having a four cyclinder in a fairly large truck. If it's the I-5 I'd take that.

I work as mechanical contractor but will not be hauling any materials. We have bigger trucks for that kind of work. So yea, it would be mostly for transportation from point A to B. you are right. Don't necessarily need all that HP or Torque but always nice to have them. No offroading. Like I said it's for business ONLY.

I guess what concerns me is that having extended cab, as you know there isn't sufficient room in the back to really carry ppl comfortably. Plus coming from small import car, driving around in what's considered 'big truck' could be somewhat interesting too.

So then get a freakin Toyota Prius

I hate it when people especially companies use trucks for company vehicles that are used strictly for traveling. Talk about a waste of natural resources
