Any experience with edgeracing.com ???
Title says it all.
Has anyone ordered tires/wheels from this place?
Their prices seem to be the best on the NET after factoring in shipping cost and no sales tax for me.

I’m getting ready to buy my Toyo Proxes 4 tires.
Thanks,
Shawn S

I just got my Proxes 4 from edge racing on Tuesday; mounted em on Wednesday. So far, these tires get a big thumbs up from me. They handle great in the slush, rain, and in the dry. They even have a more compliant ride which was surprising. I had zero problems or hastles with my order, and it was one week for door to door service.
I went with the 225/45-17's/ The Revs/mile were actually pretty close to stock, and its Load Ratings were actually higher than stock.

I purchased my 235/45/17's from them on 15 March:
$108.00 X 4 + 6% sales tax =$457.92
CostCo: mount / balance / Tire disposal =$42.40
Acura dealer 4 wheel alignment = $63.00
I'm trying to put together some pic's for you guys.
I like these tires. They feel solid on the stock CLS-6 wheels and highly recommend them to anyone interested in a high performance A/S tire.

I went ahead and had one done because of the increase from stock 215 to 235 with these Proxes 4's. They are a meaty looking tire, if you know what I mean. When you see one you'll know what I mean.
Any way, when I had my 1999 SI, they came with stock 205 Michellan's. I went up by 10 to 215 on RE730's. Did not do an alignment and eventually noticed some cupping on the inside when the tires got about 12000 miles on them. I figured it was due to the fact that I did not do the alignment
Thought I would play it safe on these since I went up to 235 for the wider look.

That edge-racing place can do 504 SHIPPED for the tires in 235/40/18
The local place wants 180 a tire installed plus 6% tax.
That’s over 760 dollars.
To mount & balance tires I bring in they will charge 20 a wheel.
So if I mail order them and pay for install it will be around 580.
A savings of nearly 200 bucks.
One problem though and I’m glad I asked.
This place WILL NOT mount a 235 tire on my 7 1/2” rim.
They say because Toyo recommends 8” or wider they won’t do it.
So if I go with that place I have to keep the 225/40 size I have now.
Still looking………………

When I had my proxes 4's mounted and balanced at Costco, the counter person had no problem with the transaction; however, the actual tire mounting individual was making the same noise about wheel width/tire specs etc.
I told the guy that after he mounted one of the tires, if it appeared that the tire was seriously nonconforming with the stock rim size application by visually looking at it, I would pay to have it (Proxes) unmounted and pay to have the stock tire remounted. Then proceed to find another tire mounter that would comply. That's how confident I was that all would be OK.
In a nutshell, he mounted one of the 4's on the stock wheel. It did not appear visually to not fit the stock wheel. Moreover, it looked very reasonable and went on the tire like a glove when he actually performed the mounting operation. I had him place the wheel/tire on the front driver's side, he lowered the car so that it was sitting on the ground, then we checked for potential rubbing issues. No problems!!!
All of the other tires were then mounted/balanced and he admitted that in this case there did not appear to be a serious problem and that they actually looked pretty hot on the car!
In retrospect, I can't blame (him)them, however, for being concerned and vocal, after all this is what they do everyday, so a little diplomacy turned out to be the key to this situation, and thus far the Proxes 4's feel solid at high speeds and in heavy cornering. (I put them through a pretty extensive road test just to be sure )
Now does this mean that there won't be problems down the road It's not like I'm road testing my CLS-6 everyday, as displayed on Road and track television. So I pretty satisfied that I have taken every reasonable precaution to purchase a suitable and great looking tire for my needs. I hope this helps those who my still be pondering what course to pursue in their own situation.
I will post some Pics soon.
Sorry for the verbose post

nice looking ride amirsafdari...I alomst got those, but I went with the Lex's instead. I have big brakes and I didn't think a 7.5" wide wheel with a lip would clear.
As far as Edgeracing goes, I had awesome customer service from them. If you call, ask for Oscar.

I went with a local place and I ordered them TODAY.
Shipping them from Edge Racing would have been 510 or so, then another 80-100 to mount & balance.
I ended up getting a local price of 680 out the door.
Yes, it’s 70-80 MORE, but I don’t have the hassle of dealing with an out-of-state company and finding a place to install them.
The place I’m getting them from will honor the warranty, “test drive” program and handle any issues.
Plus free lifetime balancing & rotation.
I expressed my concern with the mounting after reading some horror stories here about scratched rims.
They showed me the machine with all the latest plastic & rubber protection devices and said it handles up to a 22” dia wheel.
I ordered the 235/40’s and didn’t tell them I have 7 1/2” wide wheels.
I figure I’ll play dumb and if there’s an issue I’ll just tell them to swap for 225’s instead.
That’s another thing I wouldn’t have been able to do via mail-order.
I have a feeling they will work FINE.
I’m out of town this weekend, but I should have them installed next week sometime.

PAA did the alignment after I had the springs installed, but the tires were installed by NTB.

Shawn ... I got my T1-S's 235/40/18's from njzprettyboy for $540 delivered, and it cost me $60 at the local vette dealership to have them mounted and roadforce balanced on the Hunter equipment - total of $600 on the rim and out the door. When I checked with Edgeracing, my cost came out to about $20-$30 more for the T1-S's than the Proxes 4s would have been (but about $100 less than Edgeracing would have charged for the T1-S's). Anybody with the Hunter equipment shouldn't have any issues mounting 18's.
