I would have smashed there windows and lights too, maybe done some stuff to cost em a few in body work. I would have at least reported them after the fact...

Good story, but risky move considering they know where he lives.

That is the coolest car story i've ever read in my entire life. I think all of us fantasize and dream about being in that situation and taking care of business like he did. That was pretty awesome. I think I would've tried to pit him into a tree to be honest with you, but I guess thats a bit more illegal. Hahaha, regardless, sweet story.

Car thieves are scum. If I caught the assholes who stole my old bucket, I'd have a hard time deciding exactly what to do with them without committing a felony. My first thought right now would be to wrap fishing line around their necks and drag them around the block.

I'm a sentimental wreck, and I miss my old car more than it was really worth.

Man, sounds like Gone in 60 seconds that gone terribly wrong.

Given the fact that those car thief totally deserved it, but what if they work for some local street gang whose partial business is to steal car parts, hence, the list, and where do they get the list with names, parts and everything? That is sure scary. My fear is that what if it is really a gang behind it and they come look for the hero. I'd be extra cautious if I have family and loved ones living in the same address.

Hmm - they responded to two guy's grand theft with their own felony assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and misdemeanor robbery. Not too smart.

They should have called the cops and sent those two to jail for a long time. In fact, the cops may have gone the extra mile and investigated where/how they sell their parts, and might have turned this into a major auto parts theft sting - we'll never know now.

But then again - this was Canada.... the cops might have just slapped them on the wrist.

i would have beat them with a hockey stick or baseball bat and then called the cops and told them they tripped and fell when I came outside and caught them in the act...

that explains the broken ribs or busted knee, right???

...and in the states, it is possible that the "vigilantes" could be brought up on civil rights charges (read: ACLU). All that said, score one for the good guys.

Is it a cool story, sure....But all things are basically replacable...Call me a pussy, but if somebody wants something replacable, they can have it. Nothing I own is worth myself or people I love getting hurt.

I wouldn't beat them...I would have simply took all their clothes off, put them in my car, drove them to the nearest lake and get them to do alittle swimming lesson in mid november and leave them there...
