I was just pointing out what can happen to wheels if left for a long time with brake dust on them, no idea if the OP ever let it happen. I guess he says he didn't and that's cool. I've not seen a manufactures defect that looks like what he posted, it looks like corrosion to me.

OP, in case you care, soap and water to clear or ph neutral cleaner, clean them ~once a week if driven. No caustic, no acidic, don't let dust sit for more than 2 weeks.

Wheels look virtually perfect because PICTURES ARE VERY DECIEVING, like i said before. Ask Faiz who saw them this weekend. The reason i havent taken pics yet Ron is because it was raining up until last night. Those shots were taken inbetween sprinkles. I cant wait for you to see these in person Ron. Ill get the pictures taken for you tomorrow with the things you requested.

I'll try that, but does it scratch the chrome? i'm just afaird.
I am using Meguiar's hot rim cleaner to clean almost every week and its actualy stop spreading out more but those rusted spots always been there won't go away.
I use the TL very minimal i have it lil over 2 years only 25000 miles on it. Every things look spotless except for the wheels.

Peace.

Yeah, he still hasn't sent anything since his thread was started. No pictures or wheels. Still willing to work it out, but with stock dwindling as time goes by, the longer he waits the slimmer the chance for replacement's becomes.

Contact me via email, I'll see what I can do. Your wheels are not the same finish as these and seem to have been shored with a corrosive agent on them. Either way, I can work something out if you send me the wheels to inspect. This wheel in general has a good chrome track record. I believe your warranty is up also, but like I said, might be able to work somthing out with you.

We had been communicating via pm since last month and you indicated that you can't rechrome them, and to replace a new set would be out of my hope. In public, you appear to sound different, offering hope that perhaps something can be done. I understand that the warranty had already expire, however, this does not disqualify the fact that the wheels are rusted and spotted very early on and it is unfortunate that I did not bring this matter to your attention earlier than I should have. I had already sent in the pics for your inspection. Since the wheels are currently on special for $500/set, and I actually paid lots for the wheels ($1600), perhaps you can help me out and make me a happy azine member. Please let me know what can you do for my situation. The wheels are already off for the winter. Thank you in advance.
Happy Holiday.

Like you said, the wheels are out of warranty, so I am willing to give you a sale on the wheels even tho the 18" x 8.5" Inspyre does NOT fall under the sale we are offering. Those wheels are still regular price and close to backorder. From what I've seen, the wheels look like they have had brake dust sitting on them for a long time in the hard to reach spaces. Defective chrome doesn't bubble up, that is a sign of corrosion, defective chrome peels off in sheets cleanly like this:

or this:

what you show in your picture is corrosion, like this:

So even tho this is common knowledge, I would have to receive the wheels to evaluate them and make 100% sure. But in any case, I will extend a good will discount on the wheels we have that are NOT for sale. Just to show you that I am willing to work with you and appreciate your business.

IF you have the 8.5" wide, they are not on sale. Only the 7.5" wide is. And I doubt you ahve the 7.5" wide with the 50mm offset as those are reserved for the 2G TL and 2G CL, models that have been slow to sell due to the older age of the vehicles. Hence the sale and need to make room for newer, more modern spec and part #'s.

Bad news is we are on backorder on the 19" x 8.5" with a 42mm offset, maybe thats why I couldn't do anything for you at the time.

Forgive me but I've only read the first couple pages and the last couple pages of this thread, but I did almost fall off this sofa when I read "two thousand dollar set of wheels" - do I take the above to mean "two thousand dollars PER YEAR for wheels"??

Look, the first initial set wheels were CUSTOM chrome plated per the buyer's request by a 3rd party chrome plater
, try to find out how much that would cost, call any plater, then calculate shipping to and from the plater. We currently offer the Reflective Silver Chrome look Legend Type II in 20" (same wheels this customer has) at a price of $415 each.

Now, this statement about the plating lasting only about a year or two, that was experience that was gained after this whole ordeal was surfacing. I replaced the wheels with our own set of longer lasting Reflective silver finish wheels.

Lastly, this customer has NOT opted to send me detailed pictures of each wheel with the claimed damage, nor has he sent me any wheels as part of the claim procedure. He was just upset and didn't want help, just wanted to bash me after I helped resolve the problem to the best of my ability 2 years + after the initial purchase. I tried to come to a resolution with him afterwards, and he still has not taken the first step. on top of that, there are some photos of his wheels taken after this thread was started on post # 373 on the middle of this page. Make your own observations and ask yourself if this second set of replacements needs to be sent in for a claim or not.

I see some flaws on the sides of the spokes, but overall they still seem to be in nice shape.

They sure look like chrome to me - what exactly is that process, and how long can that finish reasonably be expected to last? (assuming no salt exposure and kept clean)

Hey Ron, remember me?

Too much to read here, but here is my 2cents:

1) If OP or RJ wants to prove the legitimacy of the emails, why not just screen cap the emails, blur out the personal infos, and post it for everyone to see?

2) Ron, you are the one that's trying to make a profit and sell wheels to the mass, and conflicts like this thread will do more harm than good for your business, regardless of how well/poor you are arguing your case. You are in the business for bottom lines, and this is hurting it.

3)OP, thank you for starting this call out thread, and I felt like this sheds some light on RJ's supposedly "spotless" business record.

Now, I am also a current owner of RJ's wheels. First off, let me say, Ron wasn't the honest business man I have dealt with. When I was purchasing my set of wheels from him, we have agreed on the phone that he would give me free shipping, free lug nuts, and I believe ~$20ish discount off each wheel. Sounds like a deal to me, so I gave him my info and cc# over the phone.

When the wheels came, I don't see any lug nuts. So I proceed to inquire Ron via PM about the missing lug nuts. He's responses was that I am already receiving free shipping and discounted price, that he didn't bother to throw in the lug nuts. This, to me, is extremely poor business practice. Granted those lug nuts only cost about $15, but if you weren't gonna send 'em to me, then why offer it to me over the phone? I would've purchased the wheels anyway if he was being honest, and not lied about throwing in free items. If I felt like pursuing, I would've simply just called my cc company and filed a dispute, which will costing Ron way more than the cost of the lug nuts, but I just decided to let it go and not to way my time.

So, that was the whole dealing w/ Ron experience. Back to the wheel itself. I've had it for about 10 months now, for a completely honest and unbiased opinion on RJ wheels, I think they are overpriced. Quality is so so, attention to details isn't of the utmost craftsmanship, but to date, there's not major defects on my wheel. So, I have nothing to complain on the wheel itself.

All in all, RJ will benefit greatly in a course on PR and Management. Not hating on you, I am already over the issue of the lugnuts, but I just felt like this kinda shady practice needs to be brought up, and thus bring awareness and prevent another other people from experiencing the same problems.

Addition to my post since I can't edit:

Just read a couple pages back that Ron has decided to pay for OP's re-chroming cost. Kudos. Wish it would've been offered before this thread was started, everything would've been a whole lot more merrier.

Good day, and happy holidays.
