Alerting members of dishonest eBayers

Just had a bad eBay experience and am wondering if there is a thread to report such experiences. I think it would be a good idea to have a thread that alerts members to bad eBayers. With that in mind it is my opinion that members should avoid doing business with an eBayer user named speedmotoring.

Ebay is now filled with junk that came from China either won't fit or crappy quality, counterfeit stuff. When you looking into the real honest seller then the price is same as when you go out and buy from authorize dealer. Ebay was good may be like 6 years ago but then now it just junk.

You can still get good stuff on ebay, just make sure you know what you are buying. Im about to buy some Rota wheels on there because I have looked everywhere and ebay has them for $60 less than the closest website- wheeldude

Bad feedback does not stop these people from ripping people off and it takes months to get your money back, if you do get defrauded. I think a thread here would be good to give people heads up, use caution with a certain ebay user. I mean seriously would you not warn a friend if a certain car dealer is ripping people off?

It would accomplish a couple of things. It would keep Acurazine members from getting ripped off, and it would hurt the bad eBayer's business.

OP, you still have yet to explain your "bad experience".You shouldn't come on here or anywhere else bad mouthing someone with no proof...

Speedmotoring has a feedback score of 139696 and 99.1%. I hardly doubt they are "ripping people off"....

Exactly .. and sometimes bad buying decisions are turned over to bad selling practices ... in other words the buyer didn't read it all ...

I have bought a lot and always from higher volume sellers with 98% or better ratings and never been had.

I agree. You need to look at the sellers feedback. If its all bad that's normally a bad sign.

And you should not badmouth me when I am trying to help prevent others from getting taken.

I'm a low-volume buyer-- likely less than 10X /year-- but also buy from buyers with 95% or better ratings and have no complaints about any of the purchases.

Here is the story. I went on eBay to by some lug nuts. I found some posted by speedmotoring and selected those. I paid with PayPal, immediately, as required. Shortly thereafter I receive a message from speedmotoring advising they do not have what I purchased and offered to send me another item. I declined stating I wanted what I purchased or refund my money, through PayPal.

I received another message from speedmotoring advising they sent a cancel transaction request and as soon as I agree to cancel the transaction, they will refund. I start to get concerned and my Spidey senses start tingling. I go on the cancel transaction section and look at the request. In bold, above the request eBay warns, "Do Not cancel transaction if you have already paid and have not received a refund." I call eBay, they advise if I cancel transaction I give up my right to file a buyer protection claim because they treat it as if the transaction never occurred. Further, I can not slam them with negative feedback for having an item posted they do not have.

I file a item not received claim with PayPal to tie up the funds. Then I start investigating because that is what I do. speedmotoring has two user IDs. speedmotoring and jdmfire_store. They have a lot of feedback but if you will notice(and I should have checked before purchasing) they have many item not received complaints. They also have a website called VMS Racing and a JDMfire website. They further have supposedly a store front called ESR Performance and a place called VMS Racing. All of these are the same people out of Hialeah, Florida. The whole thing adds up to shady.

As of today the items they supposedly do not have are still posted for sale on eBay.

^ you serious? If you pay for something, you don't just take a loss when there is a recourse to get your money back.

OP it may take a while but you should not give up until you have exhausted all options to get your money back. It's principal.

guitarplayer 16, I like your idea. My initial reaction was to drive to Florida, hunt this guy down, and beat my money out of him. Your idea says gas.

I have used ebay for years. As stated in post above, ebay rules you do not agree to cancel if you have not received a refund. They have a caution statement, in bold, right on the cancel page.

Just curious did you ever contact the vendor after you received the cancellation request and let them know your concerns instead of going straight to ebay and escalating it? I bet they would have worked with you. A lot of these companies depend on ebay for their livelihood and aren't out to scam ppl. especially for what basically amounts to a few dollars and risk the negative ebay rating and negative comments on the internet forums.

I rarely have a bad experience with eBay. You have to research the seller and the product before you purchase just like you do with any business and the products they sell.

I did contact them and forwarded them the eBay rules. They told me to kiiss off and said they would not refund money then dared me to file dispute. Fortunately transaction is PayPal protected. Do a search on google and yahoo for autodinamics you will see lots of negative comments. Autodinamics is the ebay store fr speedmotoring.

Well, we're really not in the business of policing eBay or every other market site. That kind of falls outside of our expertise. Each site has its own safeguards and rating system in place. It's definitely recommended you work within those regarding transactions on those type of sites.

That said, if you're buying on eBay, caveat emptor. Although from the feedback of the seller you're dealing with, it doesn't seem to be a regular thing. Not on eBay anyway. I'd work with them through eBay's system to get a resolution to your problem. If they don't want to work with you, then use Paypal's protections to resolve it.

Wasn't looking for Acurazine to "police" eBay, simply wanted to warn people to beware of this user. What do I get for my trouble? A bunch of people wanting to debate. Fine........I'm out...

Hehe, no you didn't, but you left out the other 2410 positive feedbacks for this month for an overall 99.5% positive feedback. Hardly a reason for me or anyone else not to shop here.

Not one of many, one of only about 6. And nothing newer than 2011.

I had been in car parts business since HS till about 3 years ago. Let me tell you how it usually works.

Usually Ebay Stores that sell car parts, especially performance parts have very limited inventory stock because you can't possibly stock everything and the cost of stocking item will put them out of business. Since Ebay sellers are making few dollars on every transaction, they need quantity. So they cannot list only what they have in stock, they have to list everything!
Therefore, a lot of the items have to be ordered through local distributors. If you are lucky and the local distributors have them in stock then the seller will ship it out within a few days.
If they don't then you will just have to wait. Lug nuts like Rays or Neochromes are always on back order unless you are lucky because they are from Japan and If Mackin is out then there is going to be at least 1 month wait.
That is why always ask the seller if he has them in stock before purchasing anything.

Sometimes it is not 100% the seller's fault, it is just the nature of this business.

BTW: last time i had to ask for refund on Ebay, I HAD to cancel the transaction before the seller would refund me anything. just FYI.

If that seller has 6 digit feedback at 90%+, chances are for every negative feedback, there are 9 positive ones. I think that is pretty good.
