Acura engine in a 2000 accord?

What up everyone!!!! New to this site, im wondering if I am even supposed to be posting this here, but.... Does anyone know if I can put an Acura engine in a 2000 accord sedan? What year engine? and from what Car? Im thinking the 2003 CL from the look of just the size of the engine and body. Will I need different motor mounts? will the manual tranny be compatible? what else will I need to get?

I want to say that a few people did this back in the day with the CL-S engine/tranny. Definitely not cheap, but with enough money, anything is possible.

Oh and welcome to the site!!

Do you want to put a 4-cylinder into the Accord or a V-6?

It would be cheaper to sell your accord and buy a CL or TL

I just like how the 2000 4 door accord body style looks like. I really need it to be 4 door becasue I have my kids on the weekends -Not that I drive fast with the kids. I just want to know if I can I really swap it out for more power. Is it worth it to swap it out for a 4 cyclinder or should I step it up to a 6 cylinder?

Cool Is there a table?

Is there a page out there where I can go or see what kind of acura engines fit into Honda cars? or vs versus? like can a 2003 cl engine fit into a 2000 accord? can it show me if a H22 prelude engine fits into a 2000 Accord?

Yes. The accord is the same car as the TL Your best bet for this info is on another forum. V 6 (performance) dot net. They have been swapping and building hondas with acura motors.

There aren't any mounts for the K series in the 6th gen.

You can put the J32A2 into the Accord. Its been done before.

What engine do you currently have?

Im sure its possible, but it costs more (more then its worth IMO).

If its a 4cyl Accord, and you have money to burn, you can drop an H22 into it. Personally, Id do an H23/H22 hybrid motor for more torque. Those motors are pretty stout, and they handle boost real well. The only downside to the H series is the transmissions notoriously suck.

I was going to say, after all was said and done you might as well just build what you got. Or get another car for fun when you don't have the kids around.

Definitely not worth the money. Just buy a pre-owned TL/TL-S if you need 4 doors and be done with it. Easier and cheaper...

My god no one has bothered to direct this lost soul to the 2nd and 1st gen CL sections? All he needs to get this install going is listed in those forums.

Good luck, you've got a long journey ahead of you
