What in the hell?

Nissan Motor Co. (Research) won the midsize car segment award for the Altima, displacing Honda's Accord, which took that segment award last year. The Infiniti G35, also produced by Nissan Motors, won the near luxury segment.

That has to be a typo...there is no way that an Altima has a higher resale than the accord. Likewise for the G35 to have higher resale than the 3 series and the TL.

It indicates BMW is #1 (as a brand) and I am pretty sure I saw in another column about the same list the MB was second.

There are a lot of factors that determines resale value. Just a few years ago the Mini received much hype about its expected resale value, with the biggest factor being that it's a model that everyone wants, despite being relatively affordable. So brands with higher prices (like Lexus vs. Acura) don't necessarily retain their values better if the vehicles aren't received well by the public. Of course, this is just one factor, price of the vehicle does play a role, but it's not the sole determining factor.

With that said, I'm pretty sure Lexus vehicles hold their values quite well, as demand for the RX330 and ES330, two of Lexus's best sellers, doesn't seem to be decreasing any day soon.

Good find, I must have been confused thinking of the fact MB had the highest single vehicle in the Lux class.
