The best part was. I was with a coworker and was telling them how the last speeding ticket I had gotten was about 10 years ago on that stretch of road...5 mins later...boom

Soooooo......I'm pretty sure i've talked myself into selling the tundra and buying a Raptor............any reasons I shouldn't?
Are you planning on getting a Gen 1 or Gen 2?

brand new '19......but fuck they are expensive. Also boggles my mind some dealers still want a markup. The closest dealer to me has 19 (YES 19) 2019's on the lot and won't even begin to budge from the 10K markup!!!
I know these are really hot right now, but I didn't realize they were this in demand with their price tag.

Dealer markup = no buy for me.
I'm sure if you shop around, you can find one under MSRP & even with shipping/plane ticket, be cheaper than some local dealers.
35 Raptors 'in stock' at the huge dealer near me (where I bought my F150). A few left-over 2018s with a $5k discount on the listed prices.
Looks like ~$2k markup on the 19s & no markup on the 18s.
White 2018 802A ($5k off)

I don't see any reason why not to do it unless you want to just dump a bunch of money into the Tundra to try and build something that is equal to it on a different platform just to be different. That is the only argument for not doing it that I see. You could do another crazier suspension, better sways, and a blower and still not have a raptor but it would be different.

this i've thought about. Putting a blower on it and saving some coin. But I should have just bought a raptor to start. (BTW, i removed my sway bars from the tundra in the first week
)

Sounds like an awesome gig you happened upon.
Sounds like you are sold on the Raptor so not much more thought needed. Now is just finding the right deal. What color are you thinking of? White again or something different? I think the battleship grey ones or the tan ones both look great.

Oh dang.. on the hunt for a Raptor.
I love these Canadien Knucleheads (The Straight Pipes)
Their reviews are really fun and informative
Anyways, one of the guys was hunting for a cheapo 6.2L Raptor and got one!
It was a great grab. Although not common, low priced ones are out there...
Here's their vlog on it.
I think the Tundra really hits the spot on a lot of things.
Especially with the TRD supercharger (not bulletproof).
I almost bought a SoFlo reggo cab version for 25k about ~7 years ago.
The truck is actually a bit famous, the tech used it for the S/C install and ran it quasi-often.
Whichever way you go.. someone let me know so I can follow along.

that the truck is what you end up getting your speeding ticket in and not the insanely fast Turbo
