If it was all black and didn't have the extreme wide tires and ho-hum rims, then it would be

I agree-its pretty gross-two tone only works for maybach. I love how they put huge rims on and do nothing else to the car. I was talking to the guy that handles all the body work at my shop, and he was telling me how they get all these guys in that have rear-ended someone because they put huge heavy rims on, a heavy system and don't upgrade the brakes. they also bitch that the car handles like shit

A huge system and heavy wheels probably won't weigh much more than a couple of passengers would.

Even the heaviest of rims aren't more than 40lbs. are they?
and a "huge system" adds what, 100 lbs. at most?

Adding 80 pounds or so of rotating mass (not unreasonable when going from 17"->22" bling) will require the brakes to dissipate MUCH more energy. Moment of inertia increases with the radius SQUARED, so increase the radius of your wheels just 30% and the mass 100%, and you have just increased your moment of inertia by 340%. Also, the kinetic energy of the rotating wheels increases with the square of the speed, so at higher speeds, the rotational kinetic energy of the wheels can be HUGE compared to the linear kinetic energy of the rest of the car.

Here in Blacksburg, VA, we only have one rich person (Marcus Vick), and he drives a blinged-out 745i. Something about football players and making ugly cars even uglier...

...
I accept the idea that the rotational kinetic energy of the wheels increases dramatically but I disagree wtih the last part. Doesn't the kinetic energy attributed to the forward motion of the car also increase with the square of the vehicle's speed?
