The only problem with driving quickly through the Carolinas and Georgia is having a northern license plate. I got pulled over many years ago in SC. I was on a country road with no houses or side streets (nothing but farm land and trees), doing about 60 with a 45 limit.
Officer: "Boy (you know you're goose is cooked when that is the first word out of his mouth), d'you know how fast you was going?"
Me: (with all of the souther accent I could use, given NY plates/license) "No sir?"
Officer: You's doin' 65 there, I cud throw your ass in jail. What's the hurry?"
Me: We're trying to get back to the base, sir." (I was with a friend, cute girl too. We were both stationed at Ft. Gordon)
Officer: "Well, you's in the service and all......(looking at license, registration, and ID card). Get on back but slow down ya hear?"
Me: "Yes sir....."
There were more times in GA that I got pulled for doing only a few over the limit, just to let me go. And all of it was due, I think, to having a NY plate. I did change it to GA when I went back there and never had an issue afterwards.

Luckily I got out of it... but thought it was funny how I had the NY tags for 6-8 months, then right after switching everything over, I get stopped.

Thanks for the heads up. We've not done the Florida road trip since the birth of our 3 year old....who is not the car ride happy kid that my older two were at this age. So it's been a while since I've hit the pavement to Fla, having done my trip via plane. ( IBCOCHESEUGAGOES 
)
)But if I see anyone flying down the highway at 100+, I've got GSP programmed into the TL. And they have been very helpful in the past.
