I hope this isn't a repost.
I just rode in my friends' 05 GT this weekend and have to admit I enjoyed going around the corners a little sideways. The sound of it and the power. It's great. I grew up around all my friends working on Fox body stangs and always liked them.
So now...the 5.0 is back. 412 HP but with the same mpg as I get in my TL. That amazes me. I've had to deal with more little nuissances on this Acura than I've had to deal with any of my other hondas. Makes me feel like I might as well give domestic a try, especially since if there is a problem parts are cheap.
Thoughts?
PS...click 5.0 link at the bottom of this link.

I'm thinking the same thing. I LOVE the look of the challenger...but I'm more of a Ford guy...and c'mon...hard to NOT be interested in those numbers. Piston cooling, VVT on intake and exhaust. RWD...over 400 hp stock and friggin 26 mpg highway. I mean, what more can you ask for!?!?
I am going to have to really consider this.

Kind of feeling the new 5.0 too, but I hate domestics so much I don't think I'll ever learn to love it and actually give one a try...who knows maybe in the future I don't have any money anyways bahaha.

The 2011 Ford Mustang GT with the 5.0-liter motor is making it's official public debut at the North American International Auto Show this week and Ford has on display several models with the motor. In the video brought to us by KBB.com they concentrate on a Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat Mustang GT coupe while giving the facts and figures about the new model. This is the first time we get to see the new color Yellow Blaze and at first glance it's not to bad but it does remind me a little of last years Sunburst Gold. Also on display Ford has a Grabber Blue Mustang GT convertible with the 5.0 along with a California Special (GT/CS) model. Check out the video below to get your first taste of Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat.

Oh yeah...very nice! I love the Grabber blue. Probably would be the color I get if I decide to pull the trigger. You can get the California edition in that color. I love it.

For sure. A lot more Mustang support on this site than I would have expected. Leave it to the American muscle to have to incorporate some overseas MPG numbers before I start considering it. 412HP RWD...I don't even know what that's like. I've never had muscle.
So I've been thinking about this all day... what color combo would you go with?
I'm leaning towards White with dual blue stripes and black interior. Although white/red might be interesting. Then again can't go wrong with black/black. But Grabber Blue is nice too with black interior.... Can't seem to decide on color. Then the red's are nice too.

Ford has really done so amazing things lately, and the 2011 mustang is one of the best examples. I can't wait to go for a ride in one....especially since I hear they understated the power it actually makes.
They did, but not by much. I think some of the dyno's are proving that the 5.0 is closer to 430hp +/- 5

The red steering wheel kinda bothered me for about 5 minutes. Then I looked at it in a video and it was fine.
... which is even more than what the Camaro SS and Challenger SRT-8 are rated for, both at the wheels and crank!
I can't wait to drive a new 5.0... The Mustang club in the area is setting up an Oakville, Ontario assembly plant tour, followed by some test drives... The new 5.0 is included in the test drive so I said HELL YES!

^^^I wish!
Yeah, can't go wrong with white, but I like loud colors. Grabber Blue would fit the bill. They have that SYNC system and shaker audio package. We'll see. Supposedly this is rated a bit more hp at the wheels AND is much lighter than the challenger and camaro. I might be wrong though.

dont think so... its a 4.8 or something like that... i got to drive it to the bank and the car wash and that thing is fast.... its an auto and it shifts real smooth..... it doesn't drop when you're cruising and then floor it, it just picks right up like a bat out of hell... the fact that they just paved University Drive from Commercial Blvd to Sunrise Blvd helps alot too.....its the shop owners car

^^^And rightfully so! Lol. Worth the money more than likely.
About the 4.6. My friend has an 05 with exhaust, intake and chip and he's a bit over 400 to the wheels. That thing moves nicely. Definitely has a great sound to it.

I agree completely. If we were talking mid-20K dollars US, I'd probably be buying one shortly. I'd have to think about it before pulling the trigger. I wonder if my company has a contract to get good deals on them.

i love the 5.0 ...but still with those tailights and i dont see any conversion for them yet is driving me insane...yes i do understand that they are trying to give it the more classical look for the vehicle but still...
...if i can save up enough money the 5.0 is looking like a future mustang for me...

You KNOW they'll sell a kit to put around them...Shelby style...or Cobra, or Roush, or Steeda, someone will and they will look great. You can always get a dark color and tint them dark to minimize.
Doing 12's, at least the only people that will see your ugly azz are the ones you behind! Which will be MOST cars on the street. lol.
I think the improvement on the front will make me deal with the back.

yes and i cant wait to see the Kit that they might make for them...if i go with Kona or Sterling id definitly do a blackout theme to the car...i just dont like the tailights and the fog lights id probably put a Delete in there..if worst comes to worst ill get an 05-09 and drop a 5.0 in there since the fitting should be good since its all on the same chassy..
Both the front end and rear end on the 2010+ are improvements to me. The 2010+ front end just looks a lot more aggressive and the boring rear on the 05-09s is now gone. Plus the factory sequential turn signals are a nice touch.
Now the only thing I like about the 05-09s (some of them) is that they came in Mineral Grey. Aside from that....

Agree, although I find the turn signals gimmicky.

On the other hand, this is a first time I'm excited for the Rustang to deliver both serious performance (with crazy potential), decent look and based on reviews solid handling while nothing coming apart
