4RUNNER #3 for Mrs, Dallison

Mrs. Dallison had a 2001 sport that she loved, traded it for a 2010 a few years ago and finally pulled the trigger on a new one. Part of the reason was that she got $15,000 trade on her 2010 sr5 with almost 165,000 miles. She couldn't turn that down at all. I did do a lot of recent maintenance such as replace front and rear brakes and shocks/struts, and replaced all fluids. The only thing the dealer did was the trans fluid since it had to be hooked up to a machine to do it. As with most 12 year old cars, there were things that you deal with or blemishes you ignore, but the timing was right. We paid sticker but i don't think this situation will change much in the next few years.
I visited 3 dealers and they all were within $500 trade in of each other. Only one had what we wanted that was on allocation. We picked up this 2022 sr5 premium with trd wheels and blacked out emblems. This is so identical to her 2010 but just a hair updated. She loves it and she's a happy wife. These are solid vehicles and being made in Japan made it that much better.

Not a bad upgrade. And at the trade value.

I nearly shit myself when i saw what they were selling for and knew what i could get. Where we bought the '22, they first offered $9600 and i told him to not waste my time.
I know most will say that it's an outdated vehicle but she loves it. I'm always amazed that manufacturers can use the same body style for 13 model years.

Yeah, the T4R might be getting long in the tooth, but you still see them in droves on the road around here.
Guessing it's the next refresh on Toyota's radar, since the Taco & Tundra have been done.

My dad had an 03 SR5 V6 & 05 Limited V8, both 4wd, both were great to drive.

Congrats! We loved the 4Runner we had as a rental when we visited Yellowstone last year. Made me think hard about moving from a sedan to an SUV.

A little late but congrats on the new 4runner! I had a 4th gen briefly last year and quickly fell in love with 4runners as a whole. Enjoy.

I have only driven it a handful of times and it drives nice. Her 2010 was the first model year of the current design so there must have been lots of little tweak each year. Obviously being new, things are tight. It has all of the same mannerisms and sounds of the old one. Same motor, same power, except smoother. While we always liked buying a used vehicle to save on the hit, i can appreciate knowing how it was treated and maintained. I was shocked to see that they had only marked up the trade in by $1500 to sell it. They must have really hosed someone else or wanted a quick sale.
